Hazel writhed on the floor. Lillian and I gaped at each other as Belinda stalked out.

"Um . . ." I said, crinkling my nose. "What now?"

"I have no idea," Lillian quaked. "I guess we wait." She slid down onto the floor, moaning, next to the jellied Hazel. And then all our heads turned.

"Look over there," Keira said.

"Where?" I asked.

"Those glowing lights over in that part of the room," Keira said, pointing.

I followed her gaze. Sure enough, there were glowing lights. I shuddered. What if they were sparks of a fire? Then we'd be trapped in a fire and we'd...

"I'm going to check it out," Keira said. "Want to come?"

"What about Hazel?" I asked. Not that either of us knew what to do with her, but I was much keener on that than on checking out mysterious glowing lights.

Keira sighed. "I don't know what to do with her. I guess we just wait for the teachers to come get us."

Personally, detention would be a lot better than staying in a dark, ashy room forever right now. Especially a dark, ashy room with glowing lights and a hexed girl wriggling on the floor that no one else seemed able to help.

Then the door opened.

I resisted the urge to hug Lillian.

The Slytherin girl smirked at me, and my ignorance.

And then they came in.

((Who is it?? Suspense!))

I glared at Selwyns back as she walked out. How could I not have seen that coming? I should have listened to Aqua. Lilian was moaning to herself. I hoped that Selwyn wouldn't tell the teachers. But then again, if she did, she would have to explain how she happened to be out of her dormitory after curfew. And the Jelly-Legs jinx. Hmm. Maybe.......if I could figure out how she managed to get the flash of light out of the spell, I might be able to use her own tricks against her, but that seemed highly unlikely. She was a fourth year ((is that right, Belinda's a fourth?)) and I was only a second year. And it might involve dark magic. I shuddered at the thought. Maybe it was better to stick to the jinxes I already know for a while. But she would pay for what she had done, when I could face her with equal power. I shoved thoughts of revenge away for the moment, and tried to think how we could find James and Albus. James had shown me some of the secret passages last year.....if only I could remember, we would have a better chance. They would have a bettter chance, I reminded myself. I was in no shape to search for two boys with an Invisibility Cloak. And how would I get back to the dormitories? I would have to wait untill the jinx wore off, or Aqua could help me.....I gritted my teeth, furious with myself for letting my guard down.

(((Yes, Hazel is not the forgive-and-forget type. Maybe a little more than hot-tempered? Thank goodness I got your year right. And who's Dr. Horrible, and what do you love?? Her, uh, temper?)))
