What are they about?

It starts out with the main character, Maerad (MI-rid), who is a slave (just so you know, I'm terrible at describing books: I either give them away or don't say enough) in a backwater holding, and is helped to escape by a mysterious man named Cadvan. There is a lot of destiny involved in these books, and they are very long, but I really enjoyed them (I haven't described the half of it). I really suggest them!

Say what? *just joking* Sorry. I didn't quite catch that... what's a backwater holdng, for one thing?

They sound interesting, though. And your description wasn't that horrible.

A holding is like a...hmm. A very lowly country lord's house/small castle, with quarters outside for slaves, a blacksmith, etc., so it's almost a small town, with a large wall around it (I think. That's that way I think of it). Backwater meaning it's a long way from everything....
