HARRY POTTER
Harry Potter= awesomeness...

Harry Potter= awesomeness. in my eyes. I really really really love Harry Potter. I've read all the books, and the worst characters, one of them is one of the best. So, I'm just saying, that I like Harry Potter, and I'll do anything to get my hands on one again. and when I was in confession, the preist told me a new book was coming out,: The Tales of Beetle the Bard.    So bye and thank you for reading (if you did).

Yes, HP is a good series.

I wish someone who DIDN'T like Harry Potter would get on this thread. That's what make the Twilight threads survive for so long -- there are people who like them and people who don't, and they can argue.

But anyway. What's your favorite book in the series? Mine are 3, 5, and 7. I like 3 because of Sirius...I have a cousin named Sirius. (Sorry, TNÖ, I'm not Bellatrix. By the way, where is BellaTrix? I haven't seen her in a while.)

I SORTA don't like HP. He really annoys me. He's so fake and perfect in the 1st books. I honestly can't believe that THOSE became a hit. The later ones are OK, but the first are bleh. :P

'Greed. I love HP, but I have a distinctly hate/hate/love relationship with the titular character. I hate his constant wangsting and stoicism (can't stand those traits in fictional characters, heh...) but I love the flaws JKR gave him in the later books (that is, the hot-headedness, and (particularly in HPB and DH) his semi scared-little-boy syndrome).

Yeh. The main attraction for me - as I've probably said waay to many times already - were Snape, Bellatrix, Voldy, Draco, Hermione and Ron, the twins, McGonnagal, and Quidditch. In that order. Plus all the random funny moments and rather excellent character development.

It's sad that they don't include the funny bits in the movies. Those last few were awful. They were too dark and grim and depressing, and they took way too musch out. The 6th is also supposed to be depressing. They apparently ADDED a scene where the Death Eaters battle on London Bridge. ARRGGGHHH >(

I agree about Harry Potter himself. Both Harry Potter and Voldemort are really FLAT.

Voldy was pretty flat until HBP, when his character gained a fascinating partial backstory through flashbacks. After that he was still pretty flat, but he had a (for me) sympathetic past. To give JKR props, though, many antagonists aren't fleshed out NEARLY as much as Voldy - and many of the Death Eaters for that matter.

Idon't like the first book, it's kinda' boring. Potter thinks he is so perfect, though I L-O-V-E the 7th one.

Harry Potter awesome. Harry Potter = boring. Yes, I actually have read the first two books. Since you're talking about priests and confession, my guess would be that you're Catholic (like me!). Pope Benedict actually opposes Harry Potter, because it blurs the line between good and evil. It also can cut off younger readers (not that there's anything wrong with younger readers!) relationships with God while they are still in formative stages and promote secularism.

How exactly does it do that? Oh, don't tell me; I don't need to know.

Just posted a rebuttal. Hopefully it goes through quickly. :)

Tell me; I do want to know. It's easier to oppose that you understand.

By the way: Harry Potter most certainly does NOT blur the line between good and evil; quite the oposite, really.
