I've read them too!!! I've been reading them ever since I was six or seven! :) They're kind of out of my level too, but I'm addicted to them. Have you read just the first nineteen, the ones with the original writer, or have you written the ones with the ghost writers also? Or both? I've read all 119 of them (plus the 21 specials!) They get a little repetitive after a while, but they're like a good TV show in that way, with the themes being repeated over and over again.

I've read both types. I do hate that after the first 19,that the ages go backwards. You,know, how Henry goes back to being in highschool after being in college. Also,in all the ones by the other authors,Benny is always six.

I was addicted to those, in, I think... first grade? Yes, I loved those books. I, too, read every one of them. They were extremely repetitive, but as a first grader, I didn't realize that, so I adored them. I still think they're good books, though I haven't read one for years now. :)

I know! They never age. There are a lot of things I find annoying about them, but I still like them.

I loved them for years. I've grown out of them, but they were some of my favorite books for several years. Now I'm recomending them to kids I babysit.

~True Story~

When I was 4, my mom started reading the first one to me, and I loved it. Then we had some guests over, me pestering my mom to read the book to me the whole time. She said no, and I finally just yelled, "Fine! Then I'll read it myself!"

And I did, my first book that had more then 2 words per page. :)

I read a ton of these when I was little, and they got boring after a while. The plots were all the same! The grandfather and the kids go somewhere. Then they meet some people who are either in trouble or making trouble. They hear about a robbery. They find a clue and find the guy. And also, the illustrations??? BLECH!

I totally agree with everything you said (except the illustrations; I like those) and I still like them. Yes, it is the same plot book after book. But like I said above, they're like a dumb TV show. I read them when I don't have anything else to read and don't have my intellect cap on.

Aw, I loved these books when I was younger! They were one of my first chapter book series that I could read all by myself. I don't remember much about the plots and stuff, but I remember how much I liked them. I should read a couple again....

They seemed kind of repetitive to me, especially with how grandfather had at least 40 good friends in college. They visit an old friend of his every time, and each time it's someone else! I mostly read them when I was younger.

Yeah, their grandfather must've been quite popular.

I read them when I was about 8. After the first 40 or so, they got boring. Yes, their ages are always the same after #18, which is weird, because they cover at least three years or so...
