The Mysterious Benedict Society
I loved this...

I loved this book! Has anyone else read The Mysterious Benedict Society? It is one of my favorite books ever and I am thinking about getting the next book, The Mysterious Benedict Society and the Perilous Journey. This is an awesome book!

I'm glad you liked it. Um... Constance was good.

But otherwise, not so much... the characters were all Sues and Stus, and it was *so* predictable. And the whole kid power- yippee! thing was very annoying... Oh, and Kate was just the worst. Well, actually, Mr. Benedict was pretty awful too... and Curtain was a purely pitiful antagonist...

Yeah, but, again, glad you enjoyed them, no offense meant.

MILD SPOILER CONTAINED

I liked it... Mary and I have had this discussion before, though. :) I kinda get what she's saying, though.

I'm currently rereading it, though, and something is bothering me. Okay, yeah, these kids don't have parents - at least not when the book opens - but really, doesn't it seem like something your parents would tell you about as a be-safe scenario? This guy cuts them off from their only guardians, basically KIDNAPS them, makes up this whole elaborate we're-in-danger story, and sends them on a dangerous mission. I like the rest of it, but that's bothering me.

I loved this book, too! You should get the sequel - it's not quite as amazing as the first one, but still good. I think the plot was very original and I fell in love with the characters.

Oh, and by the way, love your name..... :)

There's another one coming out this October! I can't wait. :)

Hmm... you're right, Lena, I didn't notice that. Definitely something that my parents would warn against.

That's true, we did have this discussion before. :) Not as in depth as, say, HP or Twilight, though.

The whole Milligan thing was rather... sappy? Unrealistic? Sitcom/soap opera-ish? As though Kate's character could be made any worse...

Yeah! I know! October 6th to be precise!(unless they change it). I really like Kate. I know this sounds kinda wierd but, does anyone else think that Millagan is an elf? I mean in the second one he says he walks lightly, and elves walk lightly. And what about his large ears?what if they fake to cover up for his pointed ones? I'm just sayin, you can never be too sure with books, can you?

Hmm, I wouldn't be surprised. Stewart fails the "realistic fiction" genre, and it'd be just like him to spring one of those ridiculous little oh, look, I forgot to mention this! things in the third book... *coughConstancecough*

But actually no, probably not. I don't think Stewart's creative enough to think of that. And it would be an awful plot twist.

@ Hannah: You liked Kate? Why ever so?
