Hi Everyone!

Chatterbox: Blab About Books

Book quotes
Hi Everyone! ...

Hi Everyone!

I feel like Blab About Books has been a little underloved recently, so I thought about threads, and I'm not sure if this one has been done before, but I'm doing now, so, AHEM.

Favorite lines/quotes from books! Have you ever felt like an author just pulls you in with the first line of a book? Or like there was an AMAZING quote that you just wanted to remember forever? Or one that you love because it's so true for you? This is the thread for you! Please post your quote, plus the book that it came from and the authors name (If you can remember it.)

'Now for those of you who know anything about blind children, you are aware that they make the very best thieves.'
First line of Peter Nimble and His Fantastic Eyes by Jonathan Auxier

'Reader, I married him.'
Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte

'Call me The Giver.'
The Giver by Lois Lowry.

My favortie quote ever is probably this one:

“Children are caterpillars and adults are butterflies. No butterfly ever remembers what it felt like being a caterpillar.”

Cornelia Funke, The Thief Lord

The Thief Lord was such a good book I would definently reccomend!!!

Sorry, I hope the font doesn't come out weird but does anyone else love Cornelia Funke as much as I do? Inkheart was SO good. Idk if its just me....

I usually put a sticky note at all of the funny/good bits in books.

"...but the real world is where the monsters are. That’s where you learn whether you’re any good or not.” - Annabeth Chase, chapter 11 in The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan

"Hudson smirked. 'Literally no on has ever looked at me and thought, 'Oh, a normal kid.''
'I can't relate,' Fig joked, twirling an especially bright purple curl in his fingers. 'Everyone assumes I'm entirely normal at all times.'" - A Chance To Fly

"'Hey, I made you a trophy last summer,' Rey cut in. 'Did you ever add it?'
'It was a Barbie you spray-painted gold.'
'Not the question.'" - A Chance To Fly

'"TRUTH!' Fig delcared from across the campfire.
'Great,' Hudson said. 'Because this is a game of Truth or Truth, so truth is literally your only--'
'TRUTH,' Fig repeated." - A Chance To Fly

That's all I've got for now b/c "Prolouge/Little Shop Of Horrors" came on and I wanna sing along

more UNSONG quotes :D

"Wilson teamed up with Robert Shea to perform a series of experiments testing his hypothesis. In their work Placebomancer! they tested two rituals to produce rain - one invoking the demon Amdusias, the other the demon Crhvano. Both produced the same couple centimeters of rainfall, even though Amdusias was a Great King of He** who had been known to occultism for hundereds of years, and Crhvano was a set of seven letters pulled out at random from a bag of Scrabble tiles. As long as they gave the rigual a sufficiently ominous ambience, both invocations worked alike."

"'Why,' he asked, 'is there a trap door under Wyoming?'"

"[Is it the one with the blood escalator, or the other one?]"
