I can agree with The Land of Stories, Wonder, Fish in a Tree, Out of My Mind, and The Penderwicks. I haven't read the other ones, but since you apparantly have good taste, I should check them out.

A Tale of Magic and A Tale of Witchcraft are prequels to the Land of Stories so you'll probably like them.

I've read the Land of Stories, Wonder, and The Penderwicks. I really like all of the so maybe I'll check the other ones. Can I add book reccomendations? If so then:

Rise of Kyoshi (related to Avatar, but you don't need to watch the series to understand the book at all)

The Giver

The Red Pony (written in the perspective of a pony a bit like black beuaty in that sense)

Charlie Thorne and the Lost Equation

The Hunger Games (triolagy)

Little Woman (read the entire triolagy, it is really good)

The Happy Prince and Other Stories

Oh man, making my name explanation thread reminded me of a book I loved when I was 10/12! It's called Starfire, by Jennifer Lynn Alvarez. It's a story about a pegasus who can't fly. I read this book so many times, and it influenced the early drafts of my own novel as well as my CAPTCHA's name, Starfire Scales! It has some good messages about bullying, too, plus an epic conclusion. It's a series as well, I really only remember the first book though.

Also The Familiars by Adam J Epstein! I bought it at one of those school book fairs and loved it. It's about 3 animals-- a cat, a toad, and a blue jay-- having some adventures. There's also magic! It's good. Definitely recommend it for the 10-12 age range. It's a fun read if you're older too, but I haven't read it in years.
