Dracula
So, I decided...

So, I decided to take Mary Liz's advice here and read Dracula, and 'tis most enjoyable. Unfortunately, to the disappointment of many people, I still rather enjoy Twilight. Anyway, yes er.... has anyone else read it and loved it?

Top, please!

Ooh yay! *gives cookies* You finished it! Wasn't it wonderful? Will you join my friend Kathy and me in wearing our Team Bram t-shirts to NM in November?

Joking.

Anyway, I agree with you about Drac (well, obviously) being the best character, followed by Lucy. The rest (John, Quincy, Mina, et al) were very nice and all but rather 2-dimensional. As I said, Bram Stoker's strength lies mainly in plot (which is naturally wonderful).

What'd you think of the ending?

Yay! I didn't think you had seen this.In that case, completely ignore what I said in the Hitchhicker's Guide To The Galaxy thread.

I loved the ending, only feeling a bit of dissapointment when they finally got Drac. :( Does it have to be a rule that the good/boring guys must always win? That's why I liked H.I.V.E. Still, great book, probabaly one of the best I have ever read. Would you reccomend the movie?

Ooh! Almost forgot. Where exactly do you live in NJ? *is really a stalker hidden under the iddentity of a young girl* /*joking*/

Yeah, I admit I was kind of sad when they got Drac too. :( I think Quincy's death partially made up for that, though.

I've never seen the movie (I bet my mom would pass out if I asked to ;D), but can safely say it naturally won't compare. It sounds okay, though. I mean, obviously there a about a million knockoffs, but you can find a decently okay and relatively nongraphic version, then go for it. I want to hear your review when you watch it, though. ;)

I am glad it was one of the best books you've ever read. :) I can say the same.

About good guys always winning: Yeah... seems to be the way things go, unfortunately. HIVE's fun because technically there are no good guys, only bad guys and worse guys. ;) However, in Drac I think it was okay, because with an antagonist that big, well... it's regretably inevitable that he dies, if only to "give people a good feeling about themselves"... (I hate it when they try to do that :P)

I live in Bordentown, which's in Burlington County. I used to put that in the location box, but then my autofill ran away for no apparent reason... *shakes fist* And I was too lazy, so yeah... ;)

If you don't mind my asking a) which state do you live in and b) ...how old are you again? (boy, I feel stupid/stalkerish now... ;) )

Re: Movies: Nosferatu was an unauthorized reproduction with the names changed enough to avoid copyright laws, but it was pretty darn good. It was a silent movie, though...

About Drac the movie: Yeah, I thought about as much. My mom woud never let me see it, but my dad probabaly would. I agree, though, the book is probaably much better.

About age/state: I live in Greensbueg, Pennsylavnia, which is next to Pittsburgh, so naturally lots of people just love the "Stillers" as the say in their Western Pennsylvania accent. *shudders* How I loathe professional football, especially the Steelers. I'm 12 years old. Don't worry. I forgive you for your behavior. ;)

*jumps slightly* Hi, TNO (umlaut).

Er... there are ways around parents prohibeting certain things... *cough* I mean, if my mom knew I'd, say, read Special Topics in Calamity Physics or that Kathy showed me that cheesy horror movie One Missed Call... Well, yes. There is a possibility that she might repeal her "no grounding" dogma. :/

On the other hand no one ever actually told me I couldn't...

I should stop talking now, I think.

Football of any kind sort of scares me. *shudders also* Today we played football in PE... 'tis always interesting, PE, 'cause our teacher PURPOSELY DEFLATES OUR BALLS...

Mmm. Bye then... o.o

@ Mary: One Missed Call? I heard about that. H'mm. I have my own little list of those. To name just one, I'm borrowing from my friend Nicole the Clique books, that are really mean, but slightly funny. Complete mind candy. I need the waiting list for The Resturant At The End Of The Universe to magically disapesr. NOW!

Er... yes. Sorry 'bot that. :)

"H'mm" is right. Kathy liked it, for some reason...

The Clique series is indeed the epitome of mind candy. Actually, Kathy read those too... My friends have slightly strange taste. >_>

I feel the same way about library-related things magically disappearing... the rude notes the library keeps emailing me, for instance. Okay, I know they don't mean to be rude, but... hurrrrrr. "This is a courtesy reminder from your library. You currently have five overdue books..." I mean, really. Go away!

Sorry. :/
