THE HUNGER GAMES!
Oh man I...

Oh man I love dystopia! I'm reading these for the first time and it is so exciting! I'm only, like, halfway through but this is so amazing! Katniss is so smart and amazing and I have no idea what she's going to do next but I'm sure it will be amazing! If you haven't read The Hunger Games, go do that right now! You have not read fiction until you read this.

I didn't really love the first one tbh but dystopia is definitely my thing! I love The Selection and The Lunar Chronicles!

Yessssss! I loved the Hunger Games, it's so good. I agree, I love me a good dystopia, especially with a female protagonist. I would recommend the Divergent series, if you like the HG, although it has more mature content than the Hunger Games.

I LOVE "The Hunger Games!" I read all of them in, like, a week! Have you heard of the prequel "A Ballad of Song Birds and Snakes?" It takes place before the "The Hunger Games," and talks about President Snow! It came out last spring, btw. The Selection is good, I am half way through the first book. My friend wants me to hurry up reading it, so we can write fan fiction about it! Does anyone else like to do fan fiction for good books?

*Kinda Spoilers for Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, but not too bad*

I do like the Hunger Games a lot, they're good books, but, in my opinion at least, the prequel, The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, is a hundred times better. Maybe I just have a soft spot for villain origin stories. Maybe because the love interest (Lucy Gray Baird) is so much more interesting than Peeta or Gale, and the whole time, I'm rooting for Coriolanus and Lucy Gray to get a happy ending, even though I know it's impossible. Maybe Suzanne Collins was just more experienced by the time she got around to the prequel, so it was better written. But whatever it is, I feel so much more of a connection to each of the characters than in the original series. And I usually am completely loyal to originals, so this is something special. Ballad is AMAZING.

Okay, I have a little theory about Katniss's father. So you know how Katniss's dad was a beautiful singer... I think he's a descendant of the Covey. I'm guessing the Covey eventually died out, but their descendants remain and still have the talent of their ancestors. The proof is that Katniss's father had a beautiful singing voice, and the Covey were singers and all that. I think this would be a beautiful story arc if it was made canon.

I never thought of that, but it's so cool and actually really plausible! I agree, and now I looked it up and there's actually a bunch of people who think that, so fingers crossed! Maybe it will be made canon, and you can boast and say you were one of the people who thought of it first.
