Chatterbox: Blab About Books

Book Quotes!
This is simple:...

This is simple: You can post book quotes (do not include tags), and anyone who wants to can take a guess at what book (or series) it's from! For imaginary bonus points, also guess who said it!

I think this was done a while ago, but I'm not entirely sure. And if it was, I didn't participate, so this might not be the same thing anyway. Does that make sense?

Anyway, I've got several quotes to start us off:

1. "You are not much of a warrior, are you, Finian?"

2. "Lord Hunkyhair LIVES!"

3. "I am a DeWinter! We do not froth!"

4. "Sisters and brothers, loyal for life, tethered for always, true as a knife"

5. "He's just this lizard I know."

6. "...And I'll be the wham-bam-shove-a-pineapple-up-his-snout dragon!"

7. "The time is closer than you think."

Have fun!

Yay, I love these!

Number two is from KOTLC, right? Maybe Legacy? And Keefe said it. I think. I need to reread Legacy.

I have more. BEHOLD

"How old is she?"  "Hard to say. She was a tree for a while. Now she's immortal."

"Hey, sparkling teeth, I totally love three of your claws but not the others, and I wish your nose was a herring so I could eat it, and also your wings sound like sharks snoring."

"Yes, I am letting my experience color my answer, which is what experience is for."

"History, Philosophy, and Poetry - that's what sets us apart from animals."  "And animals don't wear clothes."  "Right, there's also the clothes thing."

"Nitwit! Blubber! Oddment! Tweak!"

"A gnome ran in during breakfast and yelled something about a manticore stinging a stegosaurus, and they both ran off."

"I find it useful to begin breathing almost as soon as I wake up in the morning. The day turns out so much better. There have been studies."

I love that Dumbledore one! And the second one was from The Lost Heir, right? My brother is obsessed with wings of fire *but I've actually only read the graphic novels*

The first one is from Percy Jackson, someone talking about Thalia Grace, right?

Yes, number two was from KOTLC, and Keefe was the one to say it, but not in Legacy. And my guesses for yours are:

1. I agree with Silver Crystal; I think this is from Percy Jackson, with someone talking about Thalia.

2. Definetly from the Lost Heir. I think it's what Tsunami accidently told Riptide in Aquatic when they first met?

3. No idea

4. Also no idea (but whatever book it's from, it sounds like a good one!)

5. Dumbledore quote! I'm pretty sure it's from his speech at the beginning-of-year feast in Harry Potter 1

6. KOTLC! Book 1, I think.

7. Again, no idea.

Those were pretty good, @Moonkitten!

So, Number One is from a Percy Jackson book sometime after The Sea of Monsters

Number Five is from Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's/Philosopher's Stone

Number 6 is from Wings of Fire, right? I'm not sure which book it's from, but I think Kinkajou says it!

All your guesses were right - Percy Jackson, the Lost Heir, Dumbledore, and KOTLC. Good job!

There are still three left, let me know if you want me to tell you.

Is number 4 from either Nevermoor: The Trials of Morrgian Crow or Wundersmith: The Calling of Morrigan Crow? I forget which one though. Or maybe it was both?

Yes! It's mentioned in both; first in Nevermoor, but the most in Wundersmith.

This is fun!  Though so far I only recognize the Harry Potter quote.

"For reasons beneficent or nefarious, the tale handed down to us has been altered to obscure Cinderella's origins.  The fact is that she was ill-treated by her step-family because she was different."

"Examining the binding more closely, he discovered two snakes on it, one light and one dark."

""The Enemy still lacks one thing to give him strength and knowledge to beat down all resistance, break the last defences, and cover all lands in a second darkness.""

Is the last one from the Lord of the Rings?

"Sometimes, when you're on the road for a long time, and the highway is humming along underneath you and the sun is shining sideways through the windows and the world is blurring by through the glass, something magical happens."

"Anything's possible if you've got enough nerve."

I'm pretty sure the second one is from Harry Potter, and is the first from The Remarkable Journey of Coyote Sunrise?
