D'you mean Leviathan? By Scott Westerfield? With, um... Deryn and Alek and Dr. Barlow and all?

Can I have a better summary than the one on amazon? *bambie eyes*

Um, yeah, *typos*. Sorry :( So anyway, there's two MC's. Deryn is a girl that's masquerading as a boy so she can join the air force. All this takes place during WWI, mind you. There are two warring sides. The Darwinists and the Clankers. The Darwinists are using DNA to their advantage to fabricate war beasts, while the Clankers have well developed machines. So everything gets a bit messy :D So, yeah, Deryn's in the air force, and gets aboard the Leviathan, which is this giant whale like ship composed of hundreds of beasties. Alek, on the other hand, is the son of a duke and a lady in waiting, and the war starts when his parents are murdered. So he goes into hiding on this glacier, with his fencing master and some random mechanic :-/ And when the Leviathan crashes on the glacier, Alek and his friends take sides with the Darwinists and help them. Alek is totally in awe of "Dylan" (Deryn's boy name) and Deryn is, well, in *love* with Alek. But he thinks she's a guy :( Pretty tragic, if you think about it. It's sort of a cliff-hanger ending, and it's one of those books that you have to read to understand sort of. :P Sorry, bad summary, but I hope that helps?

Not that bad of a summary. Thanks. :)

Considering you mentioned Alek fences... I may have to read it. ;) And it sounds pretty interesting.

*drools* It's such a good book :D It's just uber-hard to explain, sorry. I think I'm going to do my book report on that one. Honors English is a joke :( I mean, I *love* the teacher, and she's really smart and she reads my writing *squee* But, um, it's Honors that means we do hard stuff! grrr.... sorry, I'm grumpy :P

*throws fit* You get honours English with a good teacher! *Lucky*!

My teacher for English is the kind that hates me. *throws hands up in exasperation* I don't know what I do wrong that all these teachers hate me!

It's probably the fact  that you have an opinion. *winks* My teachers would all hate me, except I have mastered the art of seeming meek and unknowing. :D

Ham, you're right. That must be it. XD I have a ways to go* before I perfect my meekness and unknowingness...

*By "a ways to go," of course, I mean that I'll never be able to do it. My way of putting a positive spin on things, y'see.

Oh yes... I forgot... *is slightly embarrassed* See, not only can you be meek and unknowing, you also have amaaazing self control. ;) I could never do that. My character and sense of morals are far too weak. ;)
