Chatterbox: Blab About Books

Book Discussion! :D
Hi!With so m...

Hi!

With so many people reading books here, I'd like to start a book discussion. Everyone can talk about their favorite book! Has anybody read "Scary Stories for Young Foxes?" It's SO good! Or has anyone read Roald Dahl books? Those are funny.

And please feel free to suggest other books, too! :)

Ooh yes I love scary stories for young foxes! I read it this October and it was great. I also really enjoy the Roald Dahl books. I have so many favorite books I can't even begin. Some of them are: Wings of Fire, Key to the extraordinary, A wolf called wander, and the Penderwicks. But I could go on forever!

Hi LunaWolf!

Which is your favorite part of Scary Stories for Young Foxes? Each story is pretty bonechilling. I think I like the swamp part. Which Roald Dahl book is your favorite? I'm really a fan of "The Witches".

I LOVE WINGS OF FIRE! Right now I am on the 11th book of it, but it is getting not-so-good. :( What is your favorite part in the Wings of Fire? I think I like when Hailstorm is like, "Eagle, Eagle, over here!" It's funny to me. Oh! And I forgot to tell you that I listen to the audiobooks, and the reader has a perfect voice for Hailstorm! :)

I think the swamp part was my favorite too! All of them are good and spooky though. I haven’t read it in while but I think my favorite Roald Dahl book is the BFG.
Which wings of fire part is my favorite is a VERY hard question. Theres SO many good parts! I love all of the six book though - its my favorite.

I love the Roald Dahl books! I practically grew up on them - my favorites are proabably Matilda, Fantastic Mr. Fox, and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I've never read "Scary Stories for Young Foxes" but maybe I'll get it from the library. Some of my other favorite books include: Six of Crows and Crooked Kingdom, by Leigh Bardugo; The Aurora Cycle, by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff; The Lunar Chronicles, by Marissa Meyer; The Nevermoor series, by Jessica Townsend; The Hunger Games, by Suzanne Collins; The Extremely Inconvenient Adventures of Bronte Mettlestone, by Jaclyn Moriarty; anything by Kate DiCamillo; and many more that I can't think of right now.

Hi pangolin!

Oh, yes, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is a good one. I never understood the snozzcumbers part until I read the BFG. Did you read the BFG? I like The Witches if I haven't already mentioned that. You have to read Scary Stories for Young Foxes.

Has anyone read the Akata series? The Akata sereis by Nnedi Okorafor includes Akata Witch, Akata Warrior, and Akata Woman. I'm halfway through Akata Warrior right now, and it's really, really, really good!!! If you haven't read the Akata series, you should definitely check it out.

Also, has anyone read the Red Queen series by Victoria Aveyard? I just got King's Cage and I'm so excited to read it.

I had to read Ender's Game for language arts this year. I didn't like it at first and I didn't really like the middle of it either, but the end was pretty good so I got motivated to read the next book, Speaker for the Dead.

Does anyone else on the CB like Marie Lu? I read Legend last fall and I've been pretty much obsessed with her books! I'm reading the sequel to the Young Elites, and I've been trying to read Skyhunter.

Wow, I have way too many books going. But these are the last few:

I really like The Testing by Joelle Charbonneau, and I'm waiting to read the sequel, Independent Study. If you like dystopias and the Hunger Games, you will like The Testing.

Has anyone read Six of Crows? One of my friends read it, so I'm trying to read it now.

I've never read Scary Stories for Young Foxes, but I love Roald Dahl. I especially liked this autobiographies, Boy and Going Solo, The Witches, Matilda, and James and the Giant Peach.

I read Akata Witch and Akata Warrior! They were good. I think I'd have to reread them again before I read Akata Woman because I don't remember the details too well...

My favorite part of that was the Beatrix Potter part.

Guys, I gotta say, I think you'll should read Wolf-Woman. It's about a girl, who was raised by wolves, and it's ending is kinda sad, but then it gets happy again really quickly! (I also recommend for you to read Explorer Academy. It's an awesome series!)
