The Chronicles of Narnia
The Chronicles of...

The Chronicles of Narnia are really, really good books. I've read all of them except The Last Battle, the very last one, and I want to save it because after that I'll have no more new ones. Has anyone else read any of them? You can talk about them here.

I love the Chronicles of Narnia! It's been a hot second since I've read them, though (I might've been 12 or 11...). I really should reread them.

Hi! Unfortunately I've only managed to read The Horse and his Boy. I liked it, you should try The Chronicles of Ancient Darkness next!

The Chronicles of Narnia are really good! I have definitely read them as I made my location Narnia lol. I haven't read them in a long time though

Yes, the C of N are wonderful! I think one of my favorites is the Horse and his Boy. I wish someone would make a movie of it. It would be wonderful with all the palaces and gardens and exciting action.

I wonder if this is just me, but the Harry Potter books seem sort of
like imitations of the Chronicles of Narnia. For instance, there's an
owl in them, I believe (I'm not very knowledgeable about Harry Potter).
Compare him to Glimfeather in The Silver Chair.

I also love all the names C. S. Lewis thought of - Archenland, Telmar, Aslan... the clear distinction between good and evil which no books seem to have these days, and the inspiring battles of the characters to do what is right.

If I had to pick a favorite book, I'd say The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. Reepicheep is the most darling thing!!!! (But don't tell him I said so.) Clive Staples (in other words, Mr. Lewis - his friends called him Jack, and you can see why) was very good at really creating an image with just a few words. For example, he says that Calormens "wear flowing robes and orange-colored turbans, and they are a wise, wealthy, courteous, cruel and ancient people". That describes them very well, I think.

I have tried clever things like "A watched thread never tops" or "Shall I compare thee to a topped thread?", but they wouldn't fit in the name box. Such is the way of the world.
