Romance Recommendations?
Does anyone have...

Does anyone have recommendations for romance novels, or novels with some romance added to the general plot? Preferably clean and light-hearted ones. I've been trying to find some new romances to read, cause I really enjoy that genre, and I thought I'd ask around for recommendations. Thanks!

Ah hi! I have a few to reccommend:

The Sun Is Also A Star by Nicola Yoon--i freaking LOVE THIS BOOK. there are a few curses but the romance is pretty light-hearted, like you said.

The Fault In Our Stars by John Greene

Love and Gelato by Jenna Evans Welch

Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe by Benjamin Alire Saenz--gay romance, if you're not interested in that. I personally loved it.

Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi--LOVED THIS BOOK--but it might be a little too intense of a romance since you mentioned light-hearted ones. I'd still give it a try, though. It's the first of a series.

Amelia Unabridged, by Ashley Schumacher: clean (except they swear a couple times) and romantic. it has some death, so it's not the lightest, but overall it's a pretty comforting read.

All the Crooked Saints, by Maggie Stiefvater: very good, primarily a fantasy but with two or three side romances. I don't remember if there's any swearing, but the romance is very light & not explicit.

The Princess Bride, by William Goldman: hilarious and definitely a fantasy romance, although it does not take itself seriously at all. Very satirical. I'm pretty sure there's no swearing, but there are several innuendos.

I've already recommended Stargirl to you, but I shall do it again just in case you haven't read it, because it is an excellent book. Oh, and speaking of our MaF book recs: I read Momo! It is quite good -- not my typical style, but definitely deep, and refreshingly original. Michael Ende seems to be talented at that latter one.

The Coming Storm, by Regina M. Hansen: fantasy, set on Prince Edward Island. It's quite lighthearted, with a subtle romance on the side.

If you haven't already read it, Jane Eyre and Pride and Prejudice (C. Brontë and Austen, of course, respectively) were kind of good, too.

Thanks for the recommendations! I'll check them out. I have read Jane Eyre and PaP (I've never seen it abbreviated that way, but there must always be a first time), and you're right, they are quite good! Charlotte Bronte especially has a stunning ability to create characters and scenes... Anyway, I'll go into more detail on our chat thread; I'll try to reply there soon. Sorry it took me a while!!

yeah, the Brontës seem to be pretty good. I haven't read any of Anne, so I'm operating on incomplete information, but I think Emily's work is my favorite... and no worries about the chat thread!

u should totally watch the movies. i never say this, but i think the movie was better than the book. And i literally never say that, ever.

Have u read the second book? Love, Stargirl. It's so good--but not as good as the first one.

Congratulations! You've found the Phoenix Egg! It's bright orange with speckles of red and yellow. Post "CAWWWW" on the Egg Hunt thread to claim your point. And...you should probably get out of here before the egg bursts into flames.

Congratulations, you've found the Jokester Egg (I was really tempted to say Yolkster. Egg puns become second nature when you've spend two weeks under the alias of 'the Egghead'. I've saved you guys from half of the terrible egg puns that pop into my head….) Anyway, to claim your point, post your favorite joke or pun on the Egg Hunt Thread. Bonus points if you can actually crack me up (nooooooo egg punnnnn)

Hmm I usually don't go looking for romance novels but I have read some good ones lately...

Hani and Ishu's Guide to Fake Dating and The Henna Wars by Adiba Jaigirdar. They both have very similar vibes, and are pretty fun, chill novels about queer Bengali girls who live in Ireland.

I also love The Mighty Heart of Sunny St. James by Ashley Herring Blake. Also queer, but middle grade (the other two are YA, but have very similar tone/level of maturity to middle grade books)
