Chatterbox: Blab About Books

Book recs?
Does anyone have...

Does anyone have any recommendations for fun, light reads for teenagers? There seem to be so few of those nowadays :( I keep running out of new, happy, clean books. Innocent romance is fine too :) Do any of y'all have any suggestions?

Hi Nerissa! I love Anne of Green Gables. I recently discovered a podcast about it that goes really in-depth into the characters, and it's really fun to listen to. I've also read some adaptations which I highly recommend--Anne of Greenville and Anne of West Philly are both set in modern times, and Anne falls in love with Diana instead, which is fabulous.

skulduggery pleasant by derek landy!! it's a 15 book series but you don't have to read all of them. it's hard to describe the story but it's definitely one of my favorite book series of all time.

I'm not rly certain what "clean romance" means but I'm reading Daughter of the Moon Goddess right now (well, it's one of the books I'm reading) and I think it has a pretty clean romance? But it's also just pretty cool/good. But for fun, light reads, DEFINITELY THE MIDNIGHT CHILDREN!! It sounds creepy, and starts off kind of slow, but it's really not and it's absolutely perfect in so many ways and one of my all time favorite favorites (yes, that was on purpose, I have too many favorites I need to group them like that) and I also just like the author, Dan Gemeinhart, too, who also wrote The Remarkable Journey of Coyote Sunrise! But The Midnight Children doesn't have romance (ig depending on who you ask, but they make it clear I think that it doesn't have romance), it's just friendships and lost souls and every bird to its nest (you'll understand). :)

But for some reason also a book that I've been wanting to read, Tidesong, came to mind here. I haven't read it yet, but I've heard it's good, and it just seems like something you guys would like, idk why.

I mean, I think the Midnight Children is a light read? Can someone specify what a light read is anyways please? It deals (mainly)  with the topic of loneliness, but I think lots of books deal with one topic or another.
