Chatterbox: Blab About Books

Fahrenheit 451
i cannot explain...

i cannot explain this book. i can't explain the feeling of reading it or finishing it. i can barely explain the characters or plot. and yet it is so incredible and impressive and awesome to me. it's confusing, yeah. i can't pretend i understand a whole lot of it. but the way it's written? it's amazing. and i feel like even with the little bit i understood of the book, i got much more out of it than i would from understanding another entire book. if that makes sense? i don't know. the writing style is just really really good and makes you feel like you're there, in the book, right next to the protagonist. we're reading it in school and i read ahead to finish it and i'm still trying to process it. i won't explain the plot much because it's sort of controversial- it's banned in a couple schools and some kids in my class have to read a different book because their parents didn't want them to read it. i'm not sure why. it's really interesting though. it feels like i could re-read it a million times and still understand something new each time. it was published in the 1950s but it feels way ahead of its time. it's a dystopian society and some of the things they talk about are scarily similar to today's society. anyways, i definitely reccomend it to any of you. it's not an easy book though. all the people i know who are reading think it's super confusing, and i agree, but i still think it's 100% worth it. if you've read it feel free to say your thoughts on it because i'm really curious about what other people think about it- my brother told me it was really boring but (as i'm sure you figured out by now haha) i disagree. anyways, sorry for the rant. it's just a REALLY good book :D (in my opinion. if you've read it and didn't like it that's totally cool- sorry if i sound like i'm trying to force my opinion on anyone, that is not my intention)

YESSSS

you just explained my exact opinion on this book.

fun fact: I'm reading it for school too, but a few weeks before we realized we had to read it for school, I was already reading it bc my dad actually...

GOT IT SIGNED!! PERSONALLY!! BY RAY BRADBURY HIMSELF!! :DD like he went up and asked!

So yes how I like to describe the book is, for me, it's extremely boring, but it's SO riveting and interesting and once I start I can't put it down and I need to know what's next what's next. And so what if this explanation makes no sense my feelings on this book make no sense and so this explanation does, in fact, make sense :)

also I was reading a few weeks after I joined CB and part 3 is literally my name :0

I have yet to read that part yet though (just kidding I may have skipped ahead a bit which I'm astonished at myself for cause usually I'm berating others for skipping ahead... but I haven't read it fully yet I'm still at part 2) bc I'm gonna wait till my school starts reading it to finish it with them, thank you so much for the rant though!! Actually! Very entertaining to read, and so true!! :DD
