Does anybody out

Chatterbox: Blab About Books

Books by Shanon Hale and other authors
Does anybody out...

Does anybody out there love the books by Shanon Hale as much as I do???  I've read Princess Academy, Enna Burning, and River Secrets, and I hope to keep finding more of them.  I especially like the way she makes all of the books in the same world, but a different time or place.  Also, has anybody red the books by E. Nesbit?  I think that they are amazing and love the way they are about real-life kids who go on different adventures. She has written The Railway Children, Five Children and It, The Story of the Amulet, and lots of others.

Right now I am reading the Mitford series by Jan Karon.  It is about an Episcopalian priest who finds all kinds of adventures in the seemingly sleepy little town called Mitford. I am currently on the second book in the series and can't wait to finish it!

Would anyone recommend the Mrs. Max series?  I got it for Christmas and haven't started yet.  Just wondering whether anybody has heard of it.

Shannon Hale is a wonderful author! I've read Princess Academy (actually, most of us CBers have—there's a summer book club we have, and it read PA), The Goose Girl, and Book Of A Thousand Days. But... The books are set in the same world? Huh? I never thought of that, and I still don't, really. I mean, River Secrets is the sequel to Enna Burning, which is the sequel to The Goose Girl, but Princess Academy and BoaTD seem very different. What makes you think it's the same world? Or does Shannon Hale have a website I don't know about where she said so, and I just didn't see. in that case, sorry...

Shannon Hale is fantastic! Did you know she's written a sequel to River Secrets? It's called Forest Born. I don't know if it's out yet, but I really, really want to read it. About the worlds: I know that The Goose Girl, Enna Burning, and River Secrets are the same world. Maybe Princess Academy is too, but Book of a Thousand Days is very different. Did she say that, about the same world?

I haven't read Mitford or Mrs. Mouse, but I love E. Nesbit's books, especially The Enchanted Castle.

I especially liked the Edith Nesbit books Five Children and It, The Enchanted Castle, and The Railway Children. There was another one but I forgot what it was called.

Actually, I think Book of a Thousand Days is based on medieval Mongolia.

I wasn't a huge fan of Book of a Thousand Days, which is the only one I've read. I want to read Goose Girl, though.

Right now I am reading And One for All. It's a sorta older book. Um, I dunno who it's by.

LOVE LOVE LOVE Shannon Hale books!!!  Heehee, and I've only read Princess Academy (about five times, once for our book club), and Book of a Thousand Days (which I almost bought yesterday), but I keep meaning to read more.  I actually got some from the library, but as usual, checked out more than I could chew, and ended up returning them without reading them.  (not to mention they were a day or two late)

Oh, could anyone tell me what order the books in The Goose Girl series goes in?  I couldn't sort it out.

LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE E. NESBIT!!!!!!  Have read: The Enchanted Castle; The Railway Children; The Magic City; (part of) Wet Magic (sadly got bored, never reached the part where my brother claims it got interesting, but apparently I stopped about a page before it.  *giggle*); (and some of) The Bastables Series (I keep meaning to reread them so I can read the rest)

Would anyone recommend The Book Theif? I absolutlly love : The Orcles of Delphi Keep! It is a lot like Percy Jackson in a way. It is all about Greek Mythology.

Oh, my brother just read The Book Thief; he said it was kinda odd, but not bad.  :)

Has anyone read The Shakespeare Stealer??  That was pretty good.  :)
