The Host!

Has anyone ever read this?? It's really good, and very different from Twilight! If you haven't read it, I'd really recommend it! For those of you who have read it, what'd you think?

I... wasn't all that impressed, actually. I mean, I think it's a much better idea than Twilight- psycho warmongering parasites convinced that they're spreading peace and prosperity throughout the cosmos even though what they're doing is, in fact, genocide- but the characters were... annoying at best, epic failures at worst, and the purple prose was once again, um, prevalent.

Though she did a much better job on the description of the landscape. It helps that she'd been to/lived in Arizona beforehand, rather than with Washington which she just looked at some pretty pictures of.

Still. Better than Twilight, even if it wasn't exactly good either. I mean, it's not completely ridiculous, narmy snark-bait. And I actually rather liked the genocidal aliens part of the plot.

I plan to read this soon.

See, I'm tired of everyone ranting about Twilight,  and not being able to say anything, or have an opinion, so i'm going to go ahead and read it. However, I'm dreading it, and to get used to SMeyer's writing style, I'm going to read The Host first, because it sounds better.
