Chatterbox: Blab About Books

Inkdeath
Has anyone read...

Has anyone read the new book in the Inkworld Trilogy? Inkdeath, by Cornelia Funke. It's really good, but in my opinion, it left some things unanswered and wasn't quite as good as the first two in the trilogy.

I'm almost finished, I just have another couple pages to go. It's sooooo good! I have a question for the people who have read it already: Does Meggie end up with Doria or Farid? Please tell me! I don't care if it ruins the story, I have to know! Please someone answer me! I beg of you!!!!

Oh come on, Emily, you just ruined it for me!  Ha ha, it's OK. I figured she would be with him (don't you mean Doria?).  I was never a big fan of Farid anyway....He always seemed annoying to me.

I was sooooo sad when I read that! Farid is my favorite character after Dustfinger, and he and Meggie were totally meant for each other! They were all lovey-dovey and fir so well! Who cares that stupid old Fenoglio wrote that Doria and Meggie would be together? Does anyone else agree that Farid and Meggie were better together than her and Doria? I do. ~Koffee

Well apparently the author didn't want them to be together, so why complain?

Yeah, I guess you're right that Cornelia Funke wanted Doria and Meggie to be together, but I think that she could have introduced Doria sooner, so that he has a chance to grow on the reader.

GAAAAAAAAH!!! Poor Farid!!! I was soooo upset when I read that! Doria was nice and everything, but Farid was TOTALLY supposed to be with Meggie! I completely agree with you, Koffee! Farid is just so... awesome. I mean, come on, he PLAYS WITH FIRE! It doesn't GET much cooler than that. He and Dustfinger are my favorite characters, although I do have a soft spot for Fenoglio and Mo as well. Roxane annoys me... not sure why.

Hey, if Meggie doesn't want Farid, can I have him?... *grabs*

LOL!  Isn't he a little old for you?

Yes, I agree. Doria SUCKS! Farid was cooler, and Fenoglio is not particulary smart, in my opinion.

I was really disappointed in Inkheart, I was was waiting for it for years(well, O.K., maybe not that long).  Meggie and Farid were sooo meant for each other.  Doria is O.K., but I agree in that the author should have introduced him earlier, it was too fast.  While I still love Cornelia Funke's books, this one was definitely a let down for me. By the way, since Farid is free, I'll take him!!!

Ooooooh noooooo, he's spoken for! I claim him by blood and bone and contest, out of truth, testament, and against all trouble! *grabs*... but I might be willing to share him. XD

I think he and I are the same age...?

By the way, everybuggy go read Garth Nix's Keys to the Kingdom series. It's confusing, but good.

I read all 7 keys to the kingdom, and they were, admittidley, good. Not as good as Warriors or Lord Of the Rings, though. Especcially Warriors.
