Chatterbox: Blab About Books

Hacking Harvard, by Robin Wassermann
Excellent book. It's...

Excellent book. It's about these three guys (Eric, Mac, Schwarz) who made a bet to get an unqualified slacker (Clay) into Harvard.

That alone is fascinating, but the subplots--- Lex, Maxwell Sr., Atherton, Ash and the other guy whatshisname, etc--- are amazingly well done. And there are a lot of different ways to interpret the "message" that the story sends.

It was an interesting read, and the technobabble wasn't terribly complicated, for the most part. There was some stuff in it that I wouldn't suggest to anyone under eleven or so, but in general I'd highly recommend Hacking Harvard. Again, because I can get emotional with some things, the ending sort of made me cry, but that's just me...

Also, don't quote me on the spelling of the author's last name, it was a library book so I don't have a copy anymore, and I'm too lazy to look it up...
