Anne of Green Gables

Chatterbox: Blab About Books

Anne of Green Gables
Anne of Green Gables...

Anne of Green Gables is a book that is definitely worth reading! Anne (with an "e") Shirley is accidentally adopted by Matthew Cuthbert and his sister Marilla. The results are full of imagination, adventures, funny mishaps, and sadness. You have to read this book!!

I own it, but I've never read it. I've been to Prince Edward Island (where Anne lived!)! Have you seen the movies? They're really good! There's a bunch of them. Three or four, I think.

Ella, I saw the movies! I think the first one was the best. The second one was also really good, but in the third one they don't follow any particular book out of the series, so it's not at all like the original story. It's still fun to watch though, just to see what people other than L.M. Montgomery think Anne of Green Gables should be like.

Same for me. I have seen the movie, I have the book, but I have not read it (except I have not gone to Prince Edward Island).

I have never actually read it, but I have listened to it on a CD numerous times. Have you ever read the next book called Anne of Avonlea?

Did you know that there is a whole Anne of Green Gables series? There are 8 of them. My favorite is the last one, Rilla of Ingleside.

I like the book up to the point where she gets all mature and boring. i have actually never finished the book. I read it voraciously about 3/4 of the way through and then got so bored I couldn't read any more... twice... but I guess some people like it and that's fine...

I own the whole series. There is one book in the middle somewhere that I didn't like (I think it was because she got really mature and nothing much was happening), but the later books get really good again because they're about Anne's kids.

I do not own the series but my sister does. I have listened to the first three. I did not want to read the fourth one because it was just letters being written in between two people. I listened to the fifth one because it was a story again. I have not gotten past the fifth book.

Dear Julia,

I loved Anne of Green Gables, too!  One of my favorite adventures of hers was when she accidently died her hair!
