This is one of those "Dear America" books where it`s the diary of a fictional kid from you-know-where. A girl named Aneteka who liives in Poland in 1896 gets a letter from her dad in America. It says he has traded her hand in marrige to a coal miner for steamship tickets!!!!!!!

I will only say 3 more things so I won`t spoil it.

1. The coal miner already had a wife (they had 3 children: Lily, Rose, and Violet) but now she`s dead. So now Anateka is a wife and a mother and she`s only 13!

2. The coal miner is a jerk.

3. I think this book is pretty good, but it can get a little confusing and also unexplanatory.

Oh, I've read this series before.  I like some of the newer ones and So Far from Home.  At least, I think that's what it's called.  It's about an Irish immigrant.
