Hey guys, I discussed with my sister today the idea of sending my copy of Who-ology to David Tennant to have him autograph it. She said maybe, but I should include postage for him to send it back. I also brought up the idea of sending it to multiple stars of Doctor Who to have it autographed, which would make it worth a LOT more money (and a cool collectible), but she said that would seem sort of rude and impersonal. Also it would take up an enormous amount of time and money.

Then she came up with the idea of having me send the book to Christopher Eccleston, and then she'd send it to David Tennant, and in her letter accompanying the shipment of the book she'd say, "My brother and I are big Doctor Who fans and he already got it signed by Christopher Eccleston," and then, Ninth and Tenth Doctor autographs on our book, the end.

I also suggested the idea of sending it to Jenna Coleman for an autograph, but again, time and money loss. I imagined I would say:

Dear Ms. Coleman,

I am a big fan of Doctor Who and your character on the show is one of my favorite of the Doctor's companions. I have sent this copy of Who-ology around and have already had it signed by David Tennant and Christopher Eccleston. Will you please autograph it? Thank you.

I also concieved sending it to John Barrowman and Billie Piper, as well as maybe Matt Smith and the others, but, again, rude/impersonal overkill? Probably.

So later I asked my dad, "How much would it cost to mail this book to London and back?"

He replied, "Uh... Plenty. Much more than it's worth. Why?"

"I wanted to mail it to David Tennant and ask him to autograph it."

"What makes you think he'll do that?"

"Well, he signs photos sent to him through the mail, why not a book?"

*thinks a moment* Then he said, "Okay, I'm not going to say that that's a bad idea and you shouldn't do it - but you should contact him first, and ask if he'll do that."

What do all you guys think? Probably just gonna send it to David Tennant, much more expensive for more stars of the show...

I would say send it to the person you would most want to know as a friend, rather than for their accomplishments on the show.

I say you should send it to Matt Smith because he's the most recent.
