Hello, Cricket!

Chatterbox: Chirp at Cricket

Hello, Cricket!

Hello, Cricket!

It is nice to be back, even if it is just for a visit. I feel so old right now. I'm EIGHTEEN!! I can hardly believe this myself! I remember spending so much time on this website talking to Paige P., Kimberly, Bellatrix, Meadow and all the other fun buggies. I can't believe how much time has passed and how old we are now. It seems like yesterday I was just on here typing away!

A few weeks ago, I graduated from high school. It's crazy how fast time goes. I feel like I've grown up so much since freshman year. I don't know if I ever talked much about my hearing loss on here, but I am deaf now. I wear two cochlear implants which help a lot. I like them better than hearing aids because they provide more clarity than hearing aids did.

I am so excited to start college in the fall! I'm ready for a fresh start and a chance to make more friends :) I am looking forward to living alone (well, with a roommate) and having a gentle push into the big world. I am hoping to work for my implant company, Cochlear Americas, when I get older. I'd like to be some sort of representative that travels around tells my story. I think it would be a perfect beginning job for me. I'd get to travel around, talk (I like to talk), and share my success story! It is the perfect job for someone who is young and does not have a family yet.

I'm not sure if any of the older buggies (from like 5 years ago!) hang out here anymore, but if so, Hello!!! :D :D :D

Hi, Maggie S.! (Chatterbox has another Maggie now, too, so I'll include the S.) I remember you well. Yes, I think you did mention your hearing loss. I'm glad the cochlear implants are working for you.

Do you remember TNO? She still submits a comment once in a while. I think she's the longest-ago person. Maybe you remember her. She's in college now, has been for one or maybe two years now.

I'm the same Admin, but it's hard for me to remember who was on when. I don't think we've heard from any of those you mention for a while. But we do have enthusiastic newer people who have been on for at least a couple years. Look around. They've written some great things!

Hullo, I'm Corina or Cori if you like. I'm new (first came on here some time at the end of last summer), so I wouldn't remember you, but it's amazing that you'd remember us ad come back after all this time.

I'm glad the cochlear implants are helping you. :)

Welcome home and I hope you stay awhile before veturing out into the wide world once again.

*gasp* Maggie! You're BAAACCCKKKKKK!

I missed you! And Bellatrix, Kimberly, etc--although TNO pops up now and again. I really miss the buggies from 5 years ago--the culture of the CB has changed a lot since then and has really overlapped with the fandom world. Not that I have a problem with that, since I'm a devout fangirl now, but it's nice to see some old faces who still remember the Pie Wars and Stupid Silly Smiley Stories.

It's so great to hear about all your varied successes! I've done a lot since I first got on CB in 5th grade... I matured. Greatly. And so did my writing. I also changed my screen name to WritingWarrior. It seemed more fitting somehow.

Thanks Admin! It's so cool you are still here! Oh CJ, I miss the good old days :) I miss all the smily faces we all used to do! We were young and so full of energy!

Oh, those Smileys! . . .
