Hello everyone! Or

Chatterbox: Chirp at Cricket

Hello everyone! Or

Hello everyone! Or should I say anyone? Is there anyone else out there? I'm a little bit overwhelmed right now... I'm not quite sure what to do, or where to look first. Any suggestions? Still trying to decide if I should trust this place... Surely there can't be as many writers in the world as this? I've always been so... Alone. Please, if you have the time, introduce yourself. Who else is new? Who has been on here forever? Why did you join Cricket? What's your favorite thing to write about? Anything... I'm just tired of being the only one.  Thanks again.

Welcome to the CB! The CB is really safe, so you don't have to act so worried! There's nothing inappropriate or anything of that nature. Most of us are avid readers and writers, as I'm writing a novel right now. It's sci-fi, and I'm almost done with it as I'm following the 'hero's journey' and getting to 50,000 words. And no need to be alone! All of us are friendly and awesome peeps! I've been on for almost a year, I think, but some people have been on longer. Bookbug and Ellie and some others are new, and they think it's great as do others.

I joined the CB because I stumbled upon it, I think. I was looking up cricket when I realized there was a Chatterbox, which I fell in love with immediately. Everyone is just so epic, fact of life.

There are tons of others like you, Alice. I thought I was alone for a bit, but you just have to open your eyes to the possibilites and turn on the light ;) You'll see you're not so alone as you thought previously.

(And by the way I be the Moss, aka Kyra. I love Doctor Who and Percy Jackson and tons of others things. I love listening to Imagine Dragons, Owl City, Phoenix, and Jersey Boys. I currently have Can't Take My Eyes Off You and Ragdoll in my head. Heck, the whole album haha. Hope you like it here :D You are sooo awesome- just the way you arrre! *sings Jersey Boys Ragdoll line* )

Thank you for making me feel so welcome! I can't believe that so many people are into the same things I am;) I'm a huge Doctor Who fan (who isn't?) and I must confess, I've never heard the Jersey Boys before but now I have to Google them:) Percy Jackson is AMAZING and one of the few things that helped me get over my hardcore addiction to Harry Potter. Ever had book withdraw-symptoms at the end of an awesome series? It's the worst:( I hated JK.Rowling for a week.

As for writing, I am currently finishing up my second draft of my book which is sort of sci-fi fantasy-ish. It's been over a two year journey for me, but I'm hoping to send it to a publisher soon. I've been stubbornly refusing to write for a few days now-- crippling writer's block-- but hopefully I'll be able to find some new ideas here. Writing has never been something I'm shared before, so this will be a new experience for me. It's a little bit terrifying, but in a good way:) Sorry for being so suspicious at first, but I'm not exactally the trusting type. You guys seem wonderful though!

Even though I'm looking in at this place through a keyhole, I think that writing may be the key. Can't wait to make some new friends, and get some inspiration. Hope that my original thread didn't make me seem like an ultra suspicious, friendless, stalker but today has been full of ups and downs. It's ending on a lovely note though:) Thanks for the introductions! I look forwards to meeting you all.

- always,

Hi Alice! Welcome to the Chatterbox! I'm Ivy. Yes, there are a lot of other writers on here, including myself! Some helpful things about the Chatterbox:

Top: For some strage reason, the first post on a thread sends it to the last page. We post the word top or another variation to get to come back to the first page.

Chirp at Cricket: For introdutions, questions, games and many other things.

Blab about Books: To talk about books!

Down to Earth: To talk about yourself, your life, or pretty much anything else.

Pudding's Place: To talk about the arts. Music, acting, dance, movies etc.

Inkwell: To talk about writing. We do RP (roleplays), RR (round Robins), post poetry and other writing or critique, or just to share!

To answer some of your questions, I've been on here for about 3 1/2 years. I joined because there were so many people in here who loved the same things I did. I like to write Fantasy novels most, but I also like historical fiction.

About me: I'm a Merlinian, a Whovian, a Potterhead, and a Oncer, which means that I LOVE Merlin, Doctor Who, Harry Potter and Once Upon a Time. I love to read, write, sing, climb things, Rubik's cube, bake, and dance. I dance Ballet, Jazz, Tap, and Contemporary.

Some of may favorite books and authors besides Harry Potter are: Rick Riordan, Shannon Hale, Jessica Day George, Diane Stanley, The Book Theif, Dragonswood, The False Prince, The secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flammel, and sooooo many more!

Once again, welcome!

Hey, Alice! I'm Corina, but if you'd like, you can call me Cori. There are millions young writers out there if you know were to look. We're one community of them, but you'd like another, friendly, awesome forums writer palce to hang out, I'd suggest visiting NaNoWriMo Young Writers Program. It's basically a challege to write a novel in a month. The site will say more. But on there there's also a forum, where there are many wonderful writers (me included!).

Anyways, enough about that. Welcome to the CB! It's certainly safe, everything's moderated.  And I'd suggest taking it slowly, explore! Exploring is a wonderful to do. Might pick up an adventure story or two on the way.

I found this place in September last year and since then it's become like a second home to me. I've found so many wonderful friends and companions here. I really hope you find your experiances as good as mine have been. I joined it becuase I saw it in the magazine, which I've been getting since I can remember.

Honored to make your acquaintance. *bows* If you have any questions, any at all, feel free to ask!

Welcome, welcome, welcome, welcome, Alice! I got on here about a month ago, and have been hooked ever since. In fact, I go on  here about two times a day. Okay, maybe three. I hope you feel comfortable here, as everyone is extremely nice.

Hi, Alice!

I heard that Moss told you I was new here, just like you. Yes, it's true, and I'd like to tell you more about myself.

Hi, I'm Ellie. Welcome to the CB! I'm sure you'll love it here like I do (I'm, like, addicted to ths site) and go on here often. I came to the CB because of Mag Fan's lovely description in the latest issue of Cricket, Crowd Sorocery, and because I'd heard of here and finally came on. I usually write fiction: realistic or fantasy. I am right now writing a realistic fiction book that needs a new title (I have a post about it in the Inkwell if you wanna go check it out). I of course love writing, but I also enjoy reading, singing, music, playing on my iPod, and more.

I, too, after reading Harry Potter, got really addicted to it. I mean, it would appear everywhere. I was always thinking, talking, and writing about it. I made constant refrences to it in my books, making all of my characters HP obbsessed. I finally got over my obbsession after about, let's see, two months. Probably even more. I am now obbsessed with Minecraft. Thankfully, it hardly shows up in my writing. I love watching people play it on YouTube. I really enjoy YouTube. Other than watching about 5 Minecraft YouTubers daily, I also enjoy the FineBros' react series' and the Honest Trailers.

There are many cool threads on here like the Character Cafe, the murder mystery RPs, the Movie Game, the book game, bunches of story RPs, the ^>V Game, and more. I hope you love it here on the CB!

Hello, Alice! It's always fascinating to see another Alice fan here. I am no mere Alice fan, nay, I am a rabid Alice cultist! I don't expect you to share my enthusiasm, but if you ever want to talk on the finer points of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland or Through the Looking Glass and What Alice Found There... I'm right here!

I don't post so much as compared to my more social friend Red, but we've both been here for about two years (more like two and a half for me), so if there are any questions you want to ask, we're right here to answer anything. I like writing, I guess, but I'm very bad at it. I prefer to edit other people's work violently. With pickaxes. And lines like, "Get this line out of here, or I'll burn it with a hatchet!"

There's a lot of really fun stuff to do here. I would recommend just going around, clicking on threads, and trying new things. I'm writing a very silly murder mystery game (under the alias of The Omnipotent Narrator, or T.O.N. for short) right now on Pudding's Place. It's due to start tomorrow, so if you want to join, please do sign up as soon as possible. I hope you enjoy your stay here!

It's lovely to meet another rabid Alice cultist:) Especially one so very polite. I share your enthusiasm for Alice, in fact, I may be the only person in the world more addicted to Alice than you! But I'll attempt not to talk your leg off, as I am convinced that a two page long fan girl rant about Wonderland would make you hate me just a little bit. I might end up hating myself a little bit too.

I'm really excited to start exploring cricket some more! Your murder mystery sounds incredibly exciting! Pudding's place you say? Where shall I sign up? And as for writing, I doubt that you are bad at writing. From what I have read, you seem to be quite the proficient:)

But I agree that dismantling someone else's work is incredibly fun, especially when given suprime editorial powers (S.E.P). One of my awful habits is enjoying arguing. I try to avoid it, but it's no use. Violently chopping someone's writing into minuscule pieces while they watch, aghast is one of the highest pleasures in life. Violence is the soul of an editor. I'm pretty sure that most editors end up becoming serial killers, or perhaps just angry English teachers, which are pretty much the same thing.

So glad that you stopped to introduce yourself! Everyone here has been so kind, I think that I will really enjoy myself. Once again, nice to meet you!

ALICE. AMAZING ALICE.

Oh, please, it would take a whole, whole, whole lot to convince me that you're more addicted than I am. Wonderland rants are marvelous. If you make a Blab about Books page, we can fanboy/fangirl over it until the Admins get annoyed at the sheer amount of Alice comments and stop posting them.

It's on the thread called "Day 0". It would be a pleasure to have someone besides myself understanding the vast quantity of Alice references I drop.

Now, you must tell me, rabid Alice cultist and violent editor, are you also fond of Oedipus? Oedipus is my other great love and if you seem to enjoy it as well, I will conclude that I've gone completely potty and am hallucination strongly and I will turn myself over to the authorities to be very strongly medicated.

And always remember, It does the boots and shoes.

Hurrah!!! Wonderland rants with someone besides my poor cat (and even she won't listen to me anymore)!!!!

And yes, start ordering up the pharmacist because I am fond of Oedipus!! Not as much as I love Antigone, I'm afraid, but then that generally happens when one has been forced to read bits of it in Latin for too long....( *heavy sigh here*) But still!!! I've found someone who knows what I'm talking about when I mention Jocasta or Polybus!!! Right now I'm entirely convinced that I must have gone a bit batty in my sleep. But, then again, I've always known I  was a potential nutcase so, what's the harm?

With my sheer number of Alice references, I may force the poor Administrators of this website to ban poor little me for life. It is something for me to strive to! I might try and explain myself, but, I'm not myself you see? So happy! And I can't wait for your murder mystery ski lodge... It sounds wonderful!

Thanks again! And if you'll excuse me now, I must go digging for apples.

Hullo, Alice! Welcome to the Chatterbox, or CB as we call it. There's no need to worry, this site is quite safe. The Admins, who are absolutely wonderful and check all of our posts before they're posted, are quite thorough and don't allow any personal information or anything objectionable to be read. Everyone here is very supportive and kind as well. It's an awesome place!

You sound quite like me, Alice. I've always felt quite alone too. Until I found the CB that is. I'd never met anyone with much of the same interest or anyone that cared about writing. Heck, I didn't really have any friends. But I know you'll love being on the CB! It's great fun!

As to your questions. I'll have been on for about 3 years this August, though it's felt like a lifetime. I'd been getting Cricket for awhile, and saw they had a website, so I decided to check it out. Greatest thing I ever did! I like to write lots of different genres and styles, so it's hard to say my favorite. I think it might be fantasy though. I write fantasy a lot.

So, as to a bit about me. I'm a strong Christian, a nutty lunatic (as most on here can testify), an obsessive bookworm, a fangirl of many many many different fandoms, and gamer, among many other things. I often bluntly speak my mind with very little act mixed in, and I am prone to random fangirlish outbursts and rants.

I quite hope you'll stay though! The Chatterbox is a magical place, full of possibility! If you enjoy writing, I strongly recommend checking out Inkwell. We have several RPs going that I'm sure you'd enjoy! I look foward to seeing you around.

Hi Alice! It's nice to meet you!

About Me: I'm Teresa. Dancing, reading and writing are the three things you can find me doing the most often. I dance ballet and pointe, but I also know a little tap. Other than that, I like to cook, take pictures, draw and go on bike rides. That's about it.

In answer to your questions, I've been on the CB for about a year and a half, or was it longer? I really can't remember. I joined the CB after searching the Cricket website, and I stumbled across this. I looked around, and it seemed like a fun site, so I joined! I don't have a favorite thing to write about, but I tend to like writing about realistic and historical fiction. I tend to enjoy writing about people and events that have happened or could happen.

That's about it. I hope you enjoy the CB!

Hello, Alice! Welcome to the CB. You are among the new group of people in the Chatterbox. We're always excited to meet someone new! My name is Nina. I've been here since November 2013 and I've been posting ever since! The first time I learned about the Cricket Chatterbox was in the magazine, when I saw the link. I visited the CB and I instantly started posting. My first post was in a Blab about Books thread about classics. I love writing poems, and I will begin writing my first full novel soon. I've been published in the magazine twice now, once in the April 2014 and the other in the recent issue, the July/August 2014 issue, both in the Letterbox.

Have fun chatting! The CB is a wonderful, safe place to be. :)
