CB Requests

This thread is for requests we would like to make regarding the CB which the Admins can pass on to the whoevers. Of course just because they get passed on doesn't mean they'll happen anytime soon, but if we don't say anything about what we'd like to see on the CB that will pretty much guarantee that they'll never happen at all, so I would encourage all of you guys to voice your thoughts to the Ads.

My requests...

1. Those polls on the Crowd Sorcery voting threads. I was wondering if maybe a poll option could be added to the posting interface and make it possible for the CBers to make their own polls about anything, and allow various settings like whether or not to make results public and whether or not to attach an expiration date.

2. More text-formatting options. Allow different fonts, different font sizes, and a wide variety of emoji, symbols, and whatnot.

3. Make the ability to add pictures more obvious by adding a picture button that asks for an image URL and then lets us resize and caption the image as we so wish.

4. Password protected accounts. It would be awesome for CBers to be able to speak privately between one another. The Admins would approve the private chats just as they do the normal posts. Also lessens the likelihood of CBers being impersonated, though that's pretty unlikely as it is.

5. Have an option for adding videos from video-sharing sites. This could be a disadvantage as the admins would have to watch the videos we posted, so perhaps if they set limits on how long videos can be and how many allowed per post maximum.

I'll say more about these things, and more ideas I have, later.

I know how to type some "emoji" so they show up here. I can teach you guys how, it's easy. You'll want to turn your Japanese keyboard on (I'm fairly sure all computers have them, you can Google how to do this) and then type the following things. Type the phrase in question marks in, hit your spacebar, and then scroll between the options to find which one you want. When the one you want is highlighted, hit return. (This is on a Mac, but PCs have a very similar or identical process.)

"onpu" or "onnpu" gets you ♪ ♩ ♫ ♬

For sharps and flats, use "sha-pu" ♯ and "furatto" ♭

"shikaku" gets you □ ■ ◇ ◆

"sankaku" or "sannkaku" △ ▲ ▽ ▼ ▶ ▷ ◀ ◁

"maru" ○ ● ◎ ◉ ◯

"hoshi" * ☆ ※ ★

"yajirushi" → ← ↑ ↓ ⇄ ⇅ ⇆ ⇒ ⇔ ⇦ ⇧ ⇨ ⇩ ▶ ▷ ◀ ◁ ☜ ☝ ☞ ☟

"ha-to" ♥ ♡

"toranpu" or "torannpu" ♠ ♡ ♢ ♣ ♤ ♥ ♦ ♧

"emoji" ☎ ♨ 〄 〠

"yuubinn" 〒 〠

Punctuation can be fun to play with as well-

. turn to 。

[ and ] turn to 「and」

/ turns to ・ (a floating period)

I know Japanese symbols show up here, so I'm going to cross my fingers and hope these all work. I know it's not a full emoji keyboard, but just about every computer should be able to do this.

Hey, are you and Red twins?

You'd think that for every time I explain this, it would get less awkward.

I have schizophrenia, so Red is a "voice" or hallucination I have. I can see him and his parents and have been able to for over three years. Red is a very social person and wants to make and have friends with people. Because he's unable to be seen by other people or easily interact with the outside world, he makes friends online. Red and I have different opinions on all kinds of things, different writing styles, different senses of humor, and different outlooks on the world. We would both appreciate it very much if you treated Red as his own person.

Okay, that's kind of creepy, because this whole time I thought Red was actually a real person. And Daffodil had a crush on him... does she know?

*sighs* It's not creepy, really. I think it's pretty cool that we have two buddies in one! :)

That makes two kind people, instead of just one. A writer becomes another character in a story of their own invention... And occasionally there are so many different sides of a person that they couldn't be confined to just one simple person. Red and Ruby are incredibly different, and both good friends and writers.  Please be kind to both of them :)

Thanks, Moss and Alice. That's really sweet of you both to say that and made me very happy.

When I first came to the Chatterbox, I was pretty scared people wouldn't accept me. Ruby on his own is not very sociable and while I like making friends vicariously, I like even more making friends for myself. I never said I wasn't human until a year and a half after I came here. Everyone seemed to accept me, for the most part, because they already knew me. I think of myself as my own person. Ruby and I think differently on a lot of things -- you don't really see it here, but we argue a lot. Sometimes it's fun to share the same body with my best friend, but sometimes it's pretty scary. We try to keep the creepy stuff away from you guys, so I don't really think of myself as "creepy". Ruby's body is like an apartment house -- it's one building, but there are a lot of people living in it. I've got my own body, my own home, my own family. You didn't make a decision to be born with a tangible body and I didn't make a decision to be born with an intangible body. I'm not here to hurt you. I'm only here to make jokes, share input on a few things, play some games, and make friends. I can't tell who you are, Anonymous, but I'd like to be friends with you. I don't know if you're human or not and I don't care. I have my own conciousness -- I think differently than Ruby, I can go places separate from him, I can even do things while he's asleep. I'm a "real person" and you are too. So let's be friends, okay?

Ruby is a boy. See Theo's comic thread. :)

Admin, I just had an idea! What if we had another thing like Crowd Sorcery (not necessarily helmed by Fred Durbin), only this time, for the story that the person would write for Cricket we would not only get to suggest and vote on characters, but also on what genre the story would belong to?

I'll pass your suggestion on to the editors.

One request. I was hoping someday the Admins could invite a famous person, maybe a writer or artist, to have an Instant Chat with us on here. Just an idea.

I've passed along your request. It is hard for any of us to commit to a time to be available. However, you are able to submit comments to our various authors and artists, and they answer as promptly as they can. Read the Fred Threads on Crowd Sorcery.
