For all you

Chatterbox: Chirp at Cricket

For all you

For all you CBers:

I was wondering, how do you identify yourselves? Do you consider yourselves part of any certain stereotype, like tomboy or nerd? Do you feel a certain way about that/those stereotype/s?

I'm not a person who is stereotyped, but I do consider myself a nerd, and I was wondering, we're a community of people who read Cricket, but what are we away from this?

I don't think this is too personal, but obviously if you think it is, you don't have to post/answer.

This is just something I've been wondering.

My high school has a program (IB) where I'm pretty sure everyone classifies themselves as a nerd. Of the various sub-types of nerds... I am a video game nerd.

To be fairly honest, I don't play video games as much as you would expect from the title, but the majority of my friends are, I follow video game news, listen to video game music a lot, straight As but not too challenging classes, on no more than one academic team at a time. I'm the one of the least slacker-ish of the video game nerds at my school, but meh, I don't have very many extracurics or summer classes.

Stereotypes? I would probably consider myself a theatre kid (other theatre kids will understand this. The rest of you have no idea what I'm talking about) although if there's a stereotype for nose-in-a-book then I would fit that as well. Also, I probably fit inside any traveler categories. My parents just agreed that after sophomore year I can travel abroad for two years:):D I've been to Europe twice already, but I'm super excited!!! I fit in the semi-nerdy category too...

I think if you wanted to put a very definite sterotype on me, it would be tomboy, because I very often wish I had been born male.

You could also call me a bookworm and a nerd, but not completely, since I also like sports and music. Because of the fact that people are so diverse, I don't like sterotypes. Aside from being good models for fictional characters, they tend to come with too many negative connotations.

I can't really be put into any specific stereotype. As Everinne said, people are quite diverse, and don't really fit in with any one type.

I guess I'm a mixture. I'm somewhat tomboy, since I don't really like to wear dresses or makeup, I'm still convinced that boys are psychopaths with cooties, and I'd much prefer to be outside climbing trees and getting dirty than doing my nails.

I'm also fairly nerdy and a bookworm, I'm definitely a fangirl, I'm a Christian feminist, a gamer, and... yeah, just a whole mess of stuff.

That's it, I'm a mess. I fall into the muttish-mess stereotype. I'm the individual/unique/independent stereotype.

Over all though, I don't really like stereotypes. Dumb blondes is a famous stereotype, and ever since it hit me what all that meant, I've been fairly anti-stereotype.

Cappie says naco. He is the naco stereotype. I always knew it.

Ah! I forgot my other two "sterotypes," which I share with you, BHR: feminist and fangirl.

I don't really think I'm really just one stertotype. I mean I'm a total nerd, but if you met me I don't think that woud immediately come to mind.  I don't seem any different than any of my non-nerd friends.

I'm definitely NOT a dumb blonde stertotype!

I'm definitely a nerd and a bookworm. I mean, doesn't my name say it all? Also, I'm like you, BHR. I haven't worn a dress in three years, and I never wear make-up or worry about my nails. I LOVE being outside, but I don't like getting dirty. Even though my hair's always a mess.

Same! I'm an outdoorsy girl as I love climbing trees :) I even got scratched yesterday for attempting to climb one I hadn't climbed before. Ow. I guess I'll stick to the big bubbly one. It looks around 300 years old, pretty cool! I'll try to get a picture up, but I'll have to post it somewhere else first.

I only wear a dress when I'm forced too paint my nails maybe once a year, my hair is long and stick s out in evry direction and constantly wear things I'm allowed to get dirty so I can get dirty.

I'm a very very very girly nerd. My friends call me "geek chic."

The stage is my second home. Singing is 60% of my theatrical passion, and acting is the other 40%. I've been singing all my life, and acting is something I've recently discovered and adore.

But...I don't know. I really love to write, too. I want to be famous for all three.

So...a geek-chic-theater-author?

I wear a bunch of nature shirts and no girly stuff, but I don't think of myself as a tomboy or something.

Uhm well...

If drawing at any moment possible counts as a stereotype, that's me. Free time in school, drawing. Recess, drawing. Bus (when I was in elementary school, I no longer ride the bus), drawing. Right now... Cricket.
