Misconceptions about Upst

Misconceptions about Upstate NY. These are things that really bug me that people think and say.

1. People think that it's all farmland. No way! Ever heard of Buffalo? Albany? Rochester? All cities!

2. People say "I'm going to NY."  You mean NY city. The worst was in Percy Jackson when Chiron said NYkers where tough. It's like just say NYC. Only one around here that gets annoyed by that though.

3. Upstate Ny is only an hour drive to NYC. No It can be 5 hours or more certainly not a day trip!

GAH!!!! just had to rant about that.

I was born and raised in Rochester, NY! We took a family vacation to NYC and it was at least a 7-hour drive to get there. Buffalo is even farther away.

I live in Nanuet, NY, but I have a house upstate in a tiny place called Franklin in the Catskills. Where I am, most of it is farmland. Though I have been to Albany before for a performing a jazz concert. So yup. Glad to see another fellow person in NY :D (wrote this in a rush)

I live in a city called Rochester. Kodak was founded here along with Xerox. It's a good-sized city with a lot of surroudiing towns and farmlannd.

Hello, Rochester! It's where I was born and raised. Also home to Eastman School of Music, Rochester Institute of Technology, and the Strong Museum.

Awesome!!! It's cool that you remember the Strong Museum, Admins, and one more thing here is Wegman's which is a grocery store, but cooler. Caroline D., I love Albany! I visited there twice.

Oh, I know Wegman's, too! And the lilacs in Highland Park, and the Eastman Theater and Eastman Museum of Photography.

Ok, I live in the city, but I have grandparents who live in Horseheads. It takes us like 5 hours to get there.

I love it, anyway! One time we went to this SUPERCOOL science museum. There was even a glass blowing place, which was the awesomest ever!

Corning Glassworks?
