I just had a really cool idea. Why don't we make a random list of facts? Here are the rules.

I'll start.

If
you have 3 quarters, 4 dimes, and 4 pennies, you have $1.19. You also
have the largest amount of money in coins without being able to make
change for a dollar.


The numbers '172' can be found on the back of the U.S. $5 dollar bill in the bushes at the base of the Lincoln Memorial.

 


In the average lifetime, a person will walk the equivalent of 5 times around the equator.

 


The 57 on Heinz ketchup bottles represents the number of varieties of pickles the company once had.


In the early days of the telephone, operators would pick up a call and
use the phrase, "Well, are you there?". It wasn't until 1895 that

~In San Francisco, it is illegal to walk an elephant down Market St unless it is on a leash. I'm not even kidding. Has anyone EVER tried walking an elephant down Market St, on a leash or otherwise? And how did it turn out? Also, what good would a LEASH do in restraining an ELEPHANT?

~A group of jellyfish is called a smack. 

~So once, Edwin Hubble (that's the dude the telescope was named after) was walking through the woods when two dudes grabbed him and tried to mug him-- or actually one dude held him while the other searched his pockets. And Edwin spun around on his heel, breaking the dude's hold, and landed a good one on his faces knocking him unconsious. The other dude was seen running through the forest. Guess his college boxing days had paid off!

~Lemmings DO NOT jump off cliffs.

-Sleeping is so easy to do, you can do it with your eyes closed.

-If you put Diet Coke in water, it floats. Regular Coke sinks.

- I am doing this on my mom's iPhone.

-This seems to be run only by me and Somebody. =)

- After reading this you will realize the the brain doesn't recognize a second "the". (This totally got me!!)

- Most laughs on TV shows today were recorded from the 1950s. That means that technically you are hearing dead people laugh.....O.o

- A Parisian street mime was so committed he got stuck in his imaginary box and died of starvation.

-  It is impossible to say Good Eye Might without sounding Australian.

-  All the characters in Toy Story blink one eye at a time.

-  If all the people in China stood on a chair and jumped off at exactly the same time, they could knock the earth out of orbit. O.o

-  The second person to survive going over the Niagara Falls died from slipping on an orange peel.

I just realized that my last fact was already posted so here are some more:)

~ Banging your head against a wall burns 150 calories per hour (but I don't recommend trying it).

~ May 29th is official "stick a pillow on your fridge day."
