I am bored

I am bored and synesthetic, so I am making a list of people and the color of their names. If you don't know what synesthesia is, look it up on Wikipedia or read A Mango-Shaped Space. Also, I do not have the kind of synesthesia where you hear a noise and see a color, I have the kind that I just KNOW the color of words and some sounds. (What color, for examle is the word "moved"?) Those people I have forgotten, please just reply and I will add your name. For some reason, I seem to see the most words in some shade of red, pink, or blue.

Julia - Medium blue/shiny

Maddy - About the same color red as the background on this site/matte

Blair - Navy/matte

Paige - Sorry, gray, but your last name is pale yellow/matte

Lena - Dark pinkish red, but the "E" is white/sometimes matte, sometimes shiny

Jenni - Light bluish with a little tinge of gray/same as Lena

Willa - Chocolate brown/shiny

TNO - Black, but the "O" (Not the umlauts) is sometimes blue/shiny

Laura - Light browny-red/matte

Bekah - Powder blue, but REbekah is raisinish/matte, Rebekah is shiny

Kimberly - Light pink/matte

Meadow - very pale pine tree green/matte

Koffee - The color of coffee with a LOT of cream/shiny

Kake - Slightly darker pink than Kimberly/matte

Hope - Golden yellow/sometimes matte, sometimes shiny

Hannah - More orange than Hope/matte

Mary Jo - Mary is bright red, Jo is purplish royal blue/shiny

More later.

Wow, that is so cool! I like my color. *grins happily* I know another girl online with synesthesia, and she says Lena is yellowish, though. Are all synesthete's colors different?

You know, I might have this synesthesia thing. I thought it was only when you actually SEE these colors, but I have strong color associations too. Only it's with letters. Like, C is bright yellow, V is green, and so on. Can you have synesthesia without actually seeing the things? Because I definitely associate these things.

I think that that would be really cool to have that color association thing (sorry, I can't spell it). Sometimes I do that, but it's not as strong as you described. I like the color that I am, it sounds all designer-ish :D

Hey! you forgot me! But, I guess that's OK since I'm kind of new and mostly post on Inkwell...but still!

P.S. My real name is Emma C. What color is that?

P.P.S. There are two books I read that metion this... umm... synesthetic! (Yes I got it, but I had to look above first...) It is infact a very important part of the story. The two books are called The Name of This Book Is Secret and If You're Reading This It Is Too Late. Both are very good, but in this book all the senses are combined (not just letters and colors, but smells with sounds, numbers with colors, smells with letters, even tastes with appearances! ) One guy even thinks a girl tastes like mint chip ice cream because she has big ears!

I think that's really neat, Brynne. And I love the book A Mango-Shaped Space. Or is it A Mango-Colored Space? I dunno. What color is my name to you?

OK, that was way weird.  I started to read these, but had to get up in the middle of it to blow my nose (gross, I know), and I hadn't read my name yet.  So, as I was walking back to my computer, I thought about my name, and guessed it must be THE. EXACT. COLOR. YOU. SAID.  EVEN THE MATTE PART!!!!!!!!!  How weird is that??????????

Hey, what's my middle name??     (Elizabeth)   :)

:) :) :) :) :) :) :)

Thanks, by the way...

I am trying to answer everyone at once. Elizabeth is sort of light pinkish/matte. Yes, Lena, all synesthete's colors are different, but there are some similarities. Fro instance, your yellow A is my red A. And I don't actually see these colors in front of my face like the girl in A Mango Shaped Space, I see them all in my head. While, most of the rest of my family says letters and numbers have colors. I am the only one where all words have colors. Here comes my mom, I have to go. Sorry!

Okay, I'm back. Wow, my last post really did not make sense. What I really meant at the end there was "While the rest of my family says that letters and numbers have colors, I am the only one where all words (and some sounds) have colors." Here are some of the ones I forgot:

Zoe - Dark orange (weird, because none of the letters in it are anywhere near orange)/usually shiny

poetonearth13 - poeton is medium blue, earth is sort of greenish brown, 13 is golden yellow/shiny

Lyra - Dark pinkish purplish red except for the yellowy orange "Y"/shiny

Bellatrix - Dark dark royal blue/shiny

Maggie - A lighter shade of the background on this site/matte

Allison - Maroon/shiny

Fireandhemlock - Red fading into dark orange/shiny

Jenn, Jen, Jennifer - About the same color as Jenni, but "fer" is more greenish

Choco - What else? Dum da dum...Dark green! :):)/sometimes matte, sometimes shiny

Whoa!

Fireandhemlock - Red fading into dark orange/shiny!!!!!!!!

It's the title of my favorite book, Fire and Hemlock, and the title is from this photograph that belongs to one of the main characters and was taken by the other main character!

So I'll describe the picture.

There is a hemlock tree in the middle of a field, and there are a group of people, about four or five, that are trying to put it out ( or maybe keep it burning).

In the background the sun is settting, and so the picture has dark orange-shiny=flames, the fading red=sun setting!!!!

And for the "Jenn, Jen, Jennifer - About the same color as Jenni, but "fer" is more greenish",

Blue and green are my favorite colours!!!!

and BellaTrix said that my age was a light blue........

CRAZY!!!!!!!!

*shakes head in perplexion*
