Chatterbox: Chirp at Cricket

Who came up

Who came up with:

~Topping

~SIs

~CBer Picturing

~The term "Charrie"

And other things like that...

And how did they become universally recognized?

Think about it. When I was really, really new, hadn't posted yet and was just scanning the boards, I was confused about what top meant, but then I figured it out. And everybuggy figures it out at some point. And everybuggy knows that that is how you get a thread to stay alive (Well, technically speaking, you could postr anything to help top it, but...).

All these little things that we do or say on the CB, funny little terms or games unique to the CB, unless you joined five minutes ago, you'll probably know what they mean.

So, who made them up?

That's what I'd like to know.

RP: I already knew about in Scratch, and actually I was really excited when I saw rps on here. I thought they where only on Scratch!

Charrie: I also learned that from Scratch.

Interesting.

@Admin~

What, approximately, is the ratio of topping comments to actual comments with actual content? If you have any idea, that is.

Even we're not sure about that one! - Admins

RPGs: RPGs were brought on here by an unknown CBer long ago. On searches through the back pages I found The Role Playing Game, which was the very first RP. (Can't find the link, sorry.)

I'm not sure about the others, but I know there were some things we don't do anymore (but we SHOULD do them)

Character Cafe: Each person takes a charrie and makes them interact with other people charries so they get to know their charrie better. Also quite hilarious.

HypQuests: Hypothetical Questions

Spamdragon: Another name for a Captcha

(These things were from before I came on so my definitions may not be the best as they are deprived from old posts I stumbled upon)

RPs are definetly not just a Cricket thing. We do them in Minecraft. I've seen them on tv. My cousin (who lives in Cali and doesn't knnow what Cricket is) is going to a LARP (Live action roleplay) camp. So not just a Cricket thing but the rest... I don't really know.

Obviously not! Yeah, Minecraft even, and so does Wikia and Scratch. I'm pretty sure lots of others do it, but those are only ones I know of.

RPs are like worldwide. However, on a different website I go to (I doubt we're allowed to discuss it) RPs are written in third person past.

Well, that's interesting. I think I much prefer first person present.

The thing I'm really wondering about is topping.

I think this link will lead you to the first RP introduced to the chatterbox:
