Chatterbox: Chirp at Cricket

I'm Arabella, and I'm kind of new to the chatterbox. Roleplaying Tani on the Kyngdom threads was my first time ever on! Anyway, I am a very opinionated nerd who loves comic books and weird science nobody can understand, and since this seems the place to do so, I thought I'd introduce myself by sharing a blurb of a story.

(Comments and everything are welcome. If people like it, I'll post more chapters and charrie descriptions. It might be a bit confusing out of context but I promise it gets better.)

"Really, there's not much to be excited about," Andy said doubtfully, swiveling around in the chair and occasionally taking swigs of the giant milkshake in her hand. She did a particularly passionate spin in the chair and knocked her knees against her computer desk. Very dignifiedly, she swiveled around once more and came to a stop facing me.

"I don't know," I said, throwing my hands up. "I mean, it's the ever-loving Museum of Modern Art! I thought you'd be interested!"

"I am," she said, throwing me a look from over her rectangular lenses. "But that doesn't mean it won't be risky."

"Spaghetti and rice!" Lois said from the other side of the room, where she was sprawled out on the sofa, a remote in her hand, lazily flipping through channels on the TV. "I thought we were professionals!"

"This is how professionals confer, you amateur," Natasha said from her spot on the ground, where she was sitting with crossed legs and flipping through Vogue. She yawned like a cat and stretched her arms above her head, ever cool about whatever prospet we had decided to take on.

"My point is," Lois continued, "that professionals wouldn't say something's too risky. They would just go out and do it." She continued flipping channels, and I rolled my eyes, turning back to Andy. I heard Lois squeal. "Yes, Antiques Roadshow!"

"I still don't get why you like that show," Andy said, laughing.

"It'll give us good ideas of appraisals," Nat answered. "Who knows how much we'll get for this sculpture Liz's offering?"

"A lot," I said, spiritedly grabbing on to the chance Nat had given me. "We all know we need it, and that the museum doesn't. There's too much in it already when the rest of this place is crumbling!"

"So we'll be regular Robin Hoods," Nat said. "Stealing from the rich, giving to the poor?"

"Something like that," I said. "Mostly stealing from the rich."

"I say we do it," Lois said. Then she whistled. "Hoo boy, man from Minnesota just got twenty-five grand for that itty-bitty violin he found in his mom's attic. We need to find ourselves a violin."

"No, we need to find ourselves a sculpture," I said, exasperated. "Are you in or out?"

"Let's give it a shot." Natasha said in her indifferent way.

"Fine, fine, fine." Lois said, rather absentmindedly.

That just left Andy. I looked at her. She looked right back. We had a staring contest until Andy finally sighed ruefully. "Okay." She said. "This better be worth it."
