I've already made one of these. But I've decided...It's time to take Abi's soapbox and stand on it once again. I just want to let you know what I think is what other people think....

Mei should not leave the CB. She makes it better.
Yes, maybe debate threads aren't a good idea. But it's not Mei's fault...if she knew the arguing would happen, would she have made it? No. Because she is a smart, rational, and amazing person. Don't blame Mei for making the thread. Other people decided to get involved.
Now...can't we just all be friends again?

*Takes a deep breath* Indeed, I couldn't agree more. Some of us decided to get involved in her debate thread, so any issues created are merely our own fault. Not Mei's. As you said, Icy, Mei is an amazing person. She would never purposely hurt someone or cause fights.
So yes, we should - can - all be friends again.

The problem is not whether her proposal of a new debate thread was a good idea or not. The problem is how she acted to those with a conflicting opinion on the topic.

Maybe not. That depends on your point of view. But regardless, I was provoked by several nasty comments to retaliate. What I said was definitely over the top and I'm not entirely proud of it, but I meant it, and I wouldn't have said anything if I hadn't been pushed to the end of my patience on that thread and others.

Anyway, I don't understand what you mean by "he wouldn't listen." Please re-read the thread and tell me how that's true in any way. I listened to what Mei had to say, I disagreed with it so I offered a conflicting opinion, and then I think she just started acting rude because I didn't agree with her point of view. She's done this several times before to me and others. Sorry, but I don't see how I "wasn't listening."

Yes, I have to agree with Icy. This thread was made to start over, not bring back the memories and issues. I understand what you are saying, HAB, and I don't blame you for what you said. But honestly? I think all of us who were involved in the issue brought things too far. So please, let's just let this go. I understand that might be hard, but please do so.
