In case you

Chatterbox: Chirp at Cricket

In case you

In case you didn't know...

Okay, so Admins have no control whatsoever on topping a post. They can't do anything to make it go higher. They can post the "top!" posts we post, but asking them to top actually doesn't do anything. How high up a thread goes depends on the number and frequency of posts it has.

To some of you, this may seem like obvious information, but for those of you who don't, this is just a heads-up. :)

Yep, I know that. I just top or poke for the fun of it on threads that I think need a boost but I'm not a part of.

I know, right?

True! That's why saying, "Admins, please top this!" Does absolutely nothing. ^^ Tops are mainly just to get a post higher on the page if it's sinking, because more active threads rise to the top.

I said that too . . . Why did they post Abi's comment but not mine?

I've also noticed if someone posts a comment on a thread with 0 posts, the thread goes to the back pages. (Sad.) And topping only works then if the first comment is showing.

Solution to that:

That happens with all threads. We don't know why, but there is a solution.

The thread will disappear after one comment. How to find it is by, on the main page of whatever section of the CB you are in, click the "submitted by" button at the top. Let it load. Then click it again and voila, you'll have those "disappeared" threads.

Oh! I never knew that! I'll stop saying 'Admins please top this thread', I guess.

I never knew that! I always am asking Admins to top threads (Ex: Admins, please top this thread. Thanks!). I stop that. Thanks for the heads up!
