MIDDLE SCHOOL!!!!

MIDDLE SCHOOL!!!!

Im going into 7th grade which is the first year of middle school in my town. My school starts after Labor Day and I'm super nervous. The schedue is really confusing and me and my best friend aren't together (although we've never been in the same class in our lives). Does anyone have any tips for me? Also, who else is going into/in middle school or seventh grade this year?

Hi! I'm an 8th grader this year, so I know the ropes. Then again, I'm homeschooled, but I go to a an Academy twice a week and have homework and class projects and six paragraph essays (urgh. Encomium and Vituperation this year. Not my favorite) like other school-aged kids, public, private, or homeschooled!

Here are some things that happen in seventh grade (or happened for me!)

More homework: Try not to pull a Rose bud and stay up until past 10:00 getting everything done. Instead, set a goal to be in bed by, and a goal to get up by. You'll have a lot more energy getting a good night's sleep! Instead of cramming, try to get it your homework done before or even during things like play rehearsals and the sibling soccer practices that you are dragged along to :)

The "what do I do with my hair????" problem: There's a plausibility that you may not have time to dry your hair before school, if your schedule (and hair!) is anything like mine. When this happens to me, I do two quick french braid pigtails. I've gotten to be pretty good at this style, so it takes way less time for me than to dry my thick hair. I have even done it in the car a couple of times!

An Irrational Fear of Teenagers: This Teen-phobia may only affect me, bu-ut it may not. Here are the symptoms:

1. Practically hiding behind younger siblings because acting like a big sister to them gives you a bit of show-offy confidence.

2. Having friends who are all younger than you.

3. Writing up a list of "why young teenagers shouldn't have phones" when you are supposed to be paying attention in class.

4. Not liking books/movies with a lot of romance except things like the Princess Bride, Singing in the Rain, and other sweet things.

5. Having "Long Live" by 4 King and Country on your playlist.

6. There are probably other symptoms but I have to hurry and get all my Thivics (Civics) homework done before (or during!) rehearsal.

The funny thing about me having Teen-Phobia...look at my age box :P

Okay then, let me explain. My life is not all that hard (WHAT? A teenager on the planet just said that??? *major explosion of teachers' and parents' brains take place*).
The reason why I have to stay up kind of late (usually it's only on Monday nights because Tuesday is when everything's due :P ) is becasue
1. I'm taking eleven subjects if you don't count things like Piano and Advanced Drama, which I still have small amounts of HW for (Earth Science, Civics, Art, Literature, Writing and Rhetoric, History, Geography, Current Events, Algebra, Spelling, and Grammar).
2. And because I'm a daydreamer, and I have this really good one right now in which my bookshelf is a prison and some of the books are secret passages. Just 10 mintues of daydreaming can send my school schedule topsy turvy (yes, I can spend ten minutes straight staring at my bookshelf and imagining).
And the reasons why I sometimes don't have time to dry my hair:
1. I have to shower in the morning during play rehearsal season (which can change depending on what play I'm doing) because, more often than not, I'll get home tired Monday night (Tues. I go to the Academy), kick my jazz shoes off and maybe watch like 10 minutes of Dancing With the Stars or Fixer Upper or read some before I'm ready for bed.
2. In the mornings, I have 14 pets to take care of. Aha! Now you see why getting out the door is a bit difficult. Especially if my little hen Amethyst wants me to protect her from the bullies among the flock. I can't put her down once she's hopped into my lap! Mom once pointed out that I had straw and chick feed and goat formula on my good jeans, and Dad answered: "she lives on a farm, she's going to go school looking like she lives on a farm." Or something like that. And I was quite happy because I'm strangly proud of the farm fact.
Why I have Teen-Phobia
God made me this way :):):):)

I'm going into 7th grade too, but for me my first year of middle school was last year. The schedule is super confusing at first, but you'll get used to it. On the first day, I went to the wrong class first period and was so embarassed! If your school is anything like mine, they won't mark you tardy for the first few days so you have some time to learn your schedule.

I started middle school/6th grade today with a half day. I have 8 periods, but I switch off STEM A and Orchestra B. For the second two semesters I have Visual Arts instead of STEM. I am really excited for school, especially math. I'm in a reverse classroom with a teacher that is apparently the best teacher in the district (6 schools!). Not to brag. There is also a really cool science lab. I don't have tips, but I can share some excited vibes!

I'm in Seventh Grade. It's fun so far. I go to this Co-Op thing one day a week, and get assignments for the rest of the week. I do Band at the local middle school three days a week, and start choir in a little more than a week. I'm also starting Piano and Jazz band soon, so busy but good. You'll do fine Dragonrider.
