Musical Advice

I want some new music. Here is what I listen to currently:

Daft Punk

Nirvana

Dakaiju

REM

I am open to anything, and I can get most music. And if you want me to listen to any of the following things, write a giant explaination why and I will:

Hamlton

Taylor Swift

Any Pop music

Ok, thanks.

I don't really care about language, but nothing too adult.

also, you probably won't like her, Gared, but I really like Kelly Clarkson, and some of Bruno Mars. Also, Rascal Flatts. They are pretty good. Hmm, who else. I have ALL of Taylor Swift's albums and songs except for her newest one, 1989, because my mom won't let me. :(

But I still listen to 1989, but she went a teeny bit too pop for me. That much pop from anyone else would have been fine, but I think Taylor Swift is too good to descend to common pop. I actually didn't like her Shake it Off, nor Out of the Woods, and didn't like Welcome to New York.

But I know Places was awesome.

They are the hunters,

We are the foxes, my love.

Just grab my hand and don't ever drop it.

Baby, I know places that we won't be found

and they'll be

chasing their tails tryin' to track us down

because I, I know places we can hide, I know places.

Why you should listen to Taylor Swift.

1. Her songs are fun to sing and easy to learn. To be honest, it's really fun to sing angry songs like Shoud've Said No, Picture to Burn, I Knew You Were Trouble, etc. And poppy happy songs like Stay, Stay, Stay, Shake it Off, and Our Song are fun to kind of obnoxiously dance to and sing in annoying but funny voices.

2. There's a lyric for everything. Literally, I can think of a TS lyric for almost every situation.

3. You'll hear her everywhere. It's good to be a Taylor fan becuase you'll hear her music everywhere, and everyone's heard of her. Whereas, if you tell your friends you like a musician called.. Gary Unpopulara, mostly no one will know who your talking about and that's never fun...

4. There's a lot of it. 5 albums, 1 EP, one Christmas album, (making it 6 albums), a few singles, and a lot of really good unreleased songs. If you don't like some, there's always more. There's pop and country as well, so if you don't lik one, listen to the other.

5. The old stuff is really good. Speak Now is her 3rd album and it's from 2010 and it's just fabulous. And I Heart ? is on the EP from 2006 or 2007 and it's one of my favorites. And of course, unreleased things like I'd Lie and Permanent Marker are better then some of her released stuff.

6. It may be poppy, but it's a good break from all the rock emo alternative deep meaningful music when you just want to spend an afternoon happily dancing in your room.

So there!

I personally am into Rachel Platten right now. I really like "Stand by You" and "Fight Song".

If you're into interesting introductions, Where the Streets Have No Name by U2 is great!! There are two instruments playing, one in 3/4 time and one in 4/4 time. So cool!

Today, I listened to the song "Hall of Fame" by The Script and really liked it, so I'd recommend that one, too. I think all three of these songs are really inspiring!

I'll get back to you on more.

Haha thanks! I used to be totally obsessed with Taylor Swift, and I kind of still am sometimes... Did you know she's making her next album right now?

I agree with Cho Chang and HAB, I also hate Taylor Swift. Personally, I think she's too whiny and all her music sounds the same. But that's just me. I may be a little biased against her, because personally, I don't like most pop artists, and she just fits into that category.

I also agree with Bluebird. Fall Out Boy and Twenty One Pilots are seriously two of my favorite bands, they're amazing. Some of my favorite FOB songs are Young Volcanoes (this one's more happy and peppy), The Phoenix (more loud and angry), Sugar We're Goin' Down, and Sophmore Slump Or Comeback Of The Year. My favorite Twenty One PIlots songs are Ode To Sleep, Migraine, Trees, Kitchen Sink, The Judge, Forest and Trapdoor. If you want some more random songs to look up, here's some:

Time Is Running Out by Muse

Remedy by Frank Iero and The Patience

Gold by Imagine Dragons

Fireflies by Chris Garneau

Dear Maria, Count Me In by All Time Low

Princess of China by Coldplay

That's all I can think of right now. Hope you like them :)

I HIGHLY recommend Pogo. Look Nick Burtke up and listen to one of his songs. His songs, especially Hermione Mix, Data and Picard, and Captain's Control are absolutely amazing.

Pogo for life!

I AGREE WITH BROOKE!!!!! Although I suggest you check in with your parents about Hamilton first though, as it has an explicit version and deals with topics that we can't actually talk about on Cricket.

ALSO RECOMMEND BY ME:

Fall Out Boy (I know someone else said it...)

Owl City (The first three or four albums are just kinda silly, and the last two are a bit more Christian, if that's a factor for you)

IMAGINE DRAGOOOOONS (They is amazing and wonderful and one of my favorite bands aaaaaaahhhh)

NEEDTOBREATHE (<--- That is actually how you spell the band's name.  They have a bit more of a countryish thing going on, but AWESOME! Also has some Christian influences)

Iron Man 3: Heros Fall (This is actually music inspired by the movie, which I have not seen, but I got it for the Inagine Dragons song and fell in love with the rest. No language that I can hear)

And yeah.... My music taste is a bit mad, that's what I got for this genre.

If you write some reasons why, I will listen to Hamilton.

I will write a detailed description on why you should listen to Hamilton on Friday, but I can't now. For some reason it seems like you would probably like the King George songs (You'll be Back, What comes Next, and I Know Him) and The Room Where it Happens, but I don't really know what music you like anyways so... yeah.

Peter Pan by Kelsea Ballerini

Lost Boy by Ruth B.

Telephone (I forgot who it was by... I feel like it's either by Lady Gaga -who is awesome- or Britney Spears -who is also awesome-)
