Candy Cane Game

Candy Cane Game

There are twelve candy canes on the table, and each will have a different effect once eaten. If you don't like candy canes, well, they'll turn into your favorite kind of candy. If you don't like candy, you don't deserve to be playing this game.

Four candy canes have very bad side effects.

Four candy canes have very strange/nondescript side effects.

Four candy canes have very good side effects (including one which will let you be the master of the next round, if you want)

The candy canes on the table are:

1: The Harry Potter candy cane

2: The Percy Jackson candy cane

3: The Warriors candy cane

4: The Mysterious Benedict Society candy cane

5: The Narnia candy cane

6: The LotR candy cane

7: The Anne of Green Gables candy cane

8: The Series of Unfortunate Events candy cane

9: The Little House on the Prairie candy cane

10: The Jane Austen candy cane

11: The Inkheart candy cane

12: The boring candy cane

Put two or three choices in the order of your preference, just in case a post claiming the candy you wanted has not yet shown up.

I will post once all have been claimed who has gotten which. The effects of the candies will be randomly determined, and I will post those also.

Oh, and you can guess me, if you dare...

I claim the Jane Austen candy cane! I hope I'm doing this right! Since there are only two options left, I didn't think I should be writing down my second and third options. XD Let me know if I'm doing this wrong, I can fix it!

Before we continue, let me just say that I completely forgot about September's poisoned teacup thing until I made this thread! Kudos to September for an awesome thread, and though I don't mean to imitate it, it's probably influenced my decision making process!

(And these are by no means going to be fine writing, just stream of conciousness :)

Inkheart Candy Cane-- Kestrel took the candy and started licking it slowly. All at once she felt dizzy and strange. Suddenly, she felt that she were in another room, far away, reading out of a book and realized that it was Percy Jackson. "The chopped-up Lord Kronos re-formed, bit by bit, in a golden sarcophagus, biding his time until he had enough power to challenge the Olympian gods. In demigod-speak, we call this a 'problem'." As her words filled the silent room, slowly, something began to materialize. A golden sarcophogus. Kestrel gasped and stopped reading as she realized what was happening. Kronos was going to try to take over the world once more, but in this world there was little to stop him. It was only a matter of time...

Little House on the Prairie Candy Cane-- Dragonrider broke off the end of her candy cane, and popped it in her mouth excitedly. Lots of bad things had happened in the Little House books, but the Ingalls family had dealt with them with perserverance and cheerfulness, so surely things would turn out alright for her as well. But even after she finished the entire candy cane, Dragonrider felt no different. Disappointed, she went to bed. Just after she turned out the lights, she thought she saw a small shadow on the wall her bed was up against. Almost in the shape of a bear. But as Dragonrider looked closer, it appeared to be in the shape of a tree stump. The closer she looked at it the faster it changed: bear to stump to bear to stump to bear...

"And that's all I get," Dragonrider mumbled. Knowing she'd never be able to sleep with the shadow changing like that, she moved a picture so it covered the obnoxious shape, and it remained forgotten until the very dismayed next owners of the house rediscovered it, several decades later.

More later, I have to leave for a concert in ten minutes.

(Note: The line Kestrel reads is a direct quote from The Battle of the Labyrinth by Rick Riordan)

Apologies. I believe one of my candy canes has somehow melted and then resolidified, using its stickiness to fix this thread to the bottom of the page. Tomorrow I'll find a chisel and try again.
