Random Facts thread!

Hmmm..who here loves random facts? I decided to make a thread solely about random facts because why not?

My top five favourite random facts:

5. People say "bless you" when you sneeze because your heart stops for a millisecond

4. Horses cant vomit

3.  There are over 50 different breeds of kangaroos

2. In an average human life time, we walk as far as five times around the equator

1. The scent of a skunk can be detected by a human up to one mile away!

Please add your own!

Another reason people say "bless you" when you sneeze is because in olden times, people believed that the demons would enter your spirit when you sneezed, so they would say "God bless you". Nowadays, the "God" part has faded away, but we naturally say "bless you" whenever someone sneezes as more of a courtesy. :)

Also, another random fact for ya! Cows can walk up stairs, but not down them.

The word disaster literally means 'bad star' because people used to think that everything was affected by the stars, and if something particularly terrible happened, it was because of a inauspicious star arrangement.

If a mosquito is biting you, and you flex that muscle, the mosquito will EXPLODE!!!

That sounds AWESOME!!! I would definitely try that, but how can you catch a mosquito biting you in time? I don't even notice when mosquitoes bite me in the summer.
