Chatterbox: Chirp at Cricket

I was flipping

I was flipping through old threads and I came upon this, posted by Nina:A long time ago there was something called the TCCP, which stood for The Cricket Currency Project. Chatterboxers could set up their own "stores" like your store here, and "restaurants" and other Chatterboxers could buy things from the store and eat at the restaurants. There was a bank, a mall, and even a business directory for all of the TCCP businesses.

I think TCCP sounds like a ton of fun, and we should restart it. Anyone with me? If people say they are I'll post my shop.

I walk into Venus Beauty. I walk straight up to the counter and say, "I would like a bottle of pink hair dye please. Bubblegum pink."

(I don't really know how to do this, sorry!)

I look up at my customer. She says, "I would like a bottle of pink hair dye please. Bubblegum pink."

I smile. Pink is my specialty! "One moment, please," I say, retreating to the back. I look around for a moment, until I finally find a vial of the dye in a perfect shade of bubblegum pink.

I walk back out with the bottle in my hand. "Now, for payment," I say. "I am a big fan of Percy Jackson and all mythology, as you can tell from the name of my business. If you can get me a Camp Half Blood necklace, it's a deal."

"Of course!" I say.

"I think I might have some in my pocket."

I rummage around, discarding a few quick-quote quills and finally, draw a 5-bead necklace from my pocket. "Here you go!" I say cheerfully.

I'm posting another one.

Name: Gringotts

Type of Shop: Bank

Owner(s): Random Person

Assistant(s): Timeless, Snicker, Umbra, Gigi, and a few more goblins.

Appearance: A large, white and gold, building. It's built with Doric columns, eight of them, surrounding it. It has a golden archway and a golden sign above it saying "Thou shall not steal". The archway leads into a grand hall which looks like a typical bank. There are four steps, giant ones, leading to the door.

Other: Clouded Leopard and Icy, would you like a collaboration for this bank? We can be the trio that manages the bank. Our AEs and other goblins could be the bankers.

Puck: Yippee! I made my own store a while ago; now I can actually show it off!
Name: Puck's Prank Palace
Type of shop: Prank and Pie shop
Joan: Pies? Really?
Puck: *Nods* They were really popular last time I opened shop. Some were used to eat, and some were used to prank! It was a genius idea! Galahad was mostly the one who made all the pies though; he's a great cook!
Galahad: wwon.
Puck: Yes; Galahad one many prizes with his pies.
Owner(s): Puck, (and Galahad, but it's really Puck who owns the store. Puck runs the pranks, Galahad runs the pies.)
Assistants: Joan, Ariel, Diovald, and Galahad
Appearance: From the outside: it looks like a quaint little shop/cottage, that can't hold very much. The shop is located near a street, and there's a cobblestone path which leads to the door. There's a red sign on the front of the store that in cursive bold lettering says: Puck's Prank Palace. There is a window in the front, and a sign which says: "Open: hours through CB hours; closed Sunday." Although the shop seems small; once you are inside, it's larger than it looks from the outside. To the left side of the store, there are shelves everywhere filled with every kind of prank imaginable. A huge refridgerator sits slightly to the back of the store. In the middle of the store is a table with many assorted bottles. Here is where you can invent your own pranks, and Puck will help you to patent your idea. To the right of the store is a counter where you buy your pranks, (and your pies.) In the very back of the store, there is an exit sign above the door. If you go outside the door; you will see a small shed in the back. This is where Puck comes up with her latest prank ideas, (she usually comes up with one every month or two,) and then sells them off inside her store. Sometimes she lets a lucky person or two take a peek inside her shed, but usually it's sealed off to visitors.
Other:  The main objective of Puck's Prank Palace is to urge others to be creative. Puck and her assistants live by the honesty and truth rule, so they promise that once you have an idea for a brand new prank, they won't steal your patented prank ideas.

Ooh, this sounds absolutely awesome! Last time you were so busy with the prank store that I don't think you even got around to everyone. So it is sure to be successful!

Random Person, I will do some protective enchantments for Gringotts.

@Everyone, should we all start out with a amount of money?

Mine for my shop will be 150 CB...coins? If I want to add features or upgrade my shop I will have to spend some, and I gain some from things bought at my shop.

Let's say  I needed  to have a meeting somewhere and chose a restraunt, like the Spanish Galleon. Or I think that was what it was called. Or if I wanted to get some products to make my witches look more uniform in a prettier way from Venus.

Like we have it on a scale like this:

Each store starts out with 10 popularity. Each day, it earns one CB money thing for each popularity point. These are sort of like your NPC buyers. When you  get something from another's shop for your shop, you gain a point.

Is this a good idea?

I don't really get the point system, can you explain more please? I do think starting with some money is good. In the first TCCP they started with 150 dollars, so let's do that. Also, I would prefer if there wasn't a lot of magic. This was supposed to be a bit more realistic.

Yay! Now where is CL???? Anyway, does that mean I have one CB money thing?

Name: Art in a Truck

Type of Shop: It sells art. Drawings, paintings, collages, chalk drawings, anime-esq comics written by hand... Basically, most art forms. There are even poetry slams that take place every sunday, and theater groups perform on wednesdays.

Owner(s): Embers in the Ashes, Jammira and Basil

Assistant(s): Fwum and his twin.

Appearance: There is a tattered-looking pickup truck that sits on the side of the road. It's rusted and worn, and in some places, cheaply welded back together, or even just patched with duct tape. As you walk past, however, you see that this sad eyesore is not just trash. There's a sign hanging from the back, that reads Art in a Truck: We Sell Art from a, well, Truck. You're intrigued, and wander closer. You see an AE with curly red hair and dark wings painting a beautiful landscape of the CB in acrylics, and two other figures in the truck's bed arranging the whares. One is a Cber with long brown hair and glasses, and the other is an AE, a boy the same age as the girl in the front who seems to be of African heritage. Soon, your gaze is drawn back to the winged girl. She's finished with her painting, and now pulls a guitar case from the passenger seat of the vehicle and goes back to the front, openening the case up. She pulls out an acoustic guitar that's missing at least one string, and she begins to strum a tune. And then she opens her mouth, and her voice brings a beautiful melody into the air. You don't know exactly why, but it seems familiar. You draw closer. Who knows, maybe these three will be great some day. Maybe...

Other: Here's a basic event calender

Sunday- Poetry slams. CBers and AEs invited!

Monday- Closed

Tuesday- 50% off all drawings Jammira declairs 'trashy'

Wednesday- Theater Groups perform in the evening. Groups include but aren't limited to: The Forgotten Charrie's Choir, Dead Threads, The AEs' Theater Union, and The CB Drama Club. Performance calenders available at the back of the truck, ask Embers.

Thursday- Free hot coco with every purchase!

Friday- Art Give-Aways

Saturday- Have your portrait drawn by Embers or Jammira for only 5 dollars! (Or whatever the equivelent is in the currency you're using.)

We hope you will visit soon!

And if you want a studio room in the back of my store, feel free!  Just come to me whenever you want to use it.
