Rocky's in the

Chatterbox: Chirp at Cricket

Rocky's in the

Rocky's in the Animal Emergency Room.   He just got attacked a few hours ago by another dog.   The doctor said he may have a punctured lung.

His skin is swelled up.

My parents are out of country, so we can't contact them.   And my grandparents are downstairs deciding what to do.

He's eight years old.

He's going blind.

I just.... I ...

I have no idea what to do, or how to feel.

but I'm praying.

I'm praying that my grandpa will go back and  find rocky in the waiting room, next to a smiling nurse who'll say he's totally fine.   And that my family won't have tgo pay anything.   I'm praying my grandpa will pick him up, and bring him back.  Just so I can Put him in my bike basket, and carry him to the park.  And feed him buttered popcorn.  And fall asleep watching a 1980's movie with him on my lap.

Please pray for him.  And me, if you don't mind.  Sorry if this sounds selfish.

Wow, that is serious. I really hope he (or she) recovers from this injury. I 100% know how you feel, because I had a poodle named Moffy that was also blind and deaf. We had to put him down because we didn't want him to be in any more pain. But enough about me, I am truly hoping that he is okay, and recovering well. Please keep us updated on what happens.

Hey. Im so sorry this happened, KG! I hope all goes well, a punctured lung aint that bad...right? I mean, it could have gone worse, like his heart or something. Im sure its easy to heal, and he'll be back and bouncing around in no time! I know what its like to feel this way. One of my dogs got staff and had to be sent to the vet. she didnt make it, but she had a lot of seporate medial problums too and was thought to die as a puppy. Let that give you hope in your younger-then-9 puppy! Mericals come when you need them the most.

Anyway, your dog sounds strong-willed, so I bet he makes it! Give him a pat on the head from me! And your self a hug for being so worried about it! That means that you care about him. It doesnt mean youre selfish. *hugs*

From your friend,

Claaws.

PS. Yes its me. Dont freak out too much. I was board and decided to check on you guys. Good thing I did, KG needed a hug! *hug*

Hey guys.  Before I say anything else, you are amazing.  Sharpie that to your head cuz its true.

But dis' morning I woke up and rocky was home.    He was still swollen from the puncture wound, And in a lot of pain.   But he let me pet him.  And he got into the car and drove to the vet with my grandpa as peaceful as a bee.

There was nothing externally, no bite marks, no blood.

But he just got so crushed.

And he's so, so small. And then there was nothing we could do...

So they gave him the medicine.    And that was it.

My grandpa brought him back in a tiny cardboard coffin the vet supplied.    And I got to pet him one last time.

The blood from his lungs had gathered  into his stomach and throat.   Everything was black and blue like he'd been slammed into a wall.    But when really all it took was some dog's big mouth.

It really points out the frailty of life doesn't it?

But never the less, he was a great dog. :)  Even if most of his life was spent curled in blankets, or next to the furnace, or pigging out on leftovers.  He was always just... So.. Amazing.

He loved people, and I'm glad that a few days before he passed he got to eat half of my corn dog, and just brighten a ton of kid's days.

So ye,  *raises glass*  here's to rocky and you all, live an awesome life for me and him.

Oh, KG, I'm so sorry! God bless Rocky.
