Hello. I'm new and am just feeling sad. It's like everyone has a buddy or someone they know, but I'm not included. 
Could someone just say something like 'hi'? I'm new and don't know what to do.

Hello, Foxy, nice to meet you! Don't worry, when we first join we often feel disconnected from everyone else. Alone in a big network of best friends. But don't worry, after about two minutes people will notice about how awesome you are, and you will start to form relationships with people, just like in real life. If you are worried about making friends, I will give you some advice. Be friendly, outgoing and kind. And most importantly, be yourself.
Where are my manners? My name is LilyPad, but you can call me Lily. I live in Australia and I don't know anyone from the CB in real life, but we're still close friends. I can't wait to get to know you, Foxy, if you have any questions just ask.

Hi Foxy! I'm Crookshanks, lover of all things Harry Potter, and I'm excited to get to know you! Don't feel sad about not knowing anyone, everyone starts off that way. Especially people like me that never posted an I'm New thread. Maybe I'm the only one. Never mind.

Hi Foxy! Welcome to the Chatterbox! I'm sorry about how you feel excluded. Sometimes I feel that way, too, but I've learned that most of the time, people aren't doing it on purpose. So next time, maybe you could try going up to someone who looks friendly and just saying hi to them, or something? I don't think buddy-partner things are too permanent, so people will probably be open to having another friend!

You know, the first thread I ever made on the CB...well, I just spent about 20 minutes searching for it but it's hidden somewhere in the back pages of DtE. Oh well...I would have liked to see it again. But the point is....
It's title was "I'm kinda jealous..." and it was about how I was sad because everyone else was "so popular" and I thought I was "nobody". But then I realized...I'd just got here, there was no way anyone would know me. So I started posting on things, and after a while I got recognized. So what I'm saying is that if you just try hard enough, it'll pay off....

Don't be sad, you're included! It might take some time for everyone to get to know you, but that's okay!
If you want to know more about me (or if you don't, I'll tell you anyways), on the CB I've gone by Natalie, Jack-a-Nat, CNN Reporter, and now Moonlight. I LOVE the Inheritance Cycle and fantasy in general. I have a dog named Jackie, my favorite color is turquoise, and I love pineapple on pizza (coincidence: I had that for dinner last night!).

Hello, Moonlight/Natalie! The link was SOOO helpful. I really liked it. I didn't have time to read the comments, though. Darn. Gotta try that another time. Thanks!! I really feel included now. I keep getting more and more comments. Every day I read them and reply. They make me feel special. I think I'll call you Moonlight if that's okay. I like fantasy, too. Say hello to Jackie for me. I love dogs (I don't have one, but, hey!!!). I have a 16-year old cat named Notte (that's Italian for black, and 16 in cat years is like 83). I like turquoise, too. Do you like Hawaiian pizza? It has pineapple on it. Who is Arya?

Hey Foxy, I'm Mango. I think I saw you post a comment on someone's thread introducing yourself. I was a bit confused, so I didn't reply. Sorry about that. Would you rather be called Lola, Winter Ice, or Foxy? Making an "I'm new" thread like you just did is a good way to let others know that you have joined. If you want to be better known, my advice is to RP (role-play) with others in Inkwell and join/make Compliment threads or get to know you threads. But really, you just have to post and be friendly, and soon people will start taking notice. I'm new myself, a few months old. Technically I've been here since late December, but I wasn't actually posting then. I like reading, tea, and most books. I will try to include you in threads once in a while when I make them!

Oh no, you aren't doing anything wrong. I understand that the CB can be a overwhelming and confusing at first. I didn't experience that much confusion because I spent a lot of time looking around and experimenting before typing anything, so I probably won't be able to answer your questions in a satisfying way (having never gone through that experience myself). I'll try my best though. As for your question about the threads...Well, each person creates a thread whenever they want to create one, and so understandably there are loads of those. You can go to the back pages by clicking the last button and looking at the threads created by people from past years. Questions about CaC, BaB, DtE, Inkwell, and Pudding's Place can best be answered by looking at the FAQs. The threads near the top of the first page are the ones that are usually still active, the second page will not be as active. However, on Inkwell solo writes (where one person creates a story, sometimes with other's character sheets and advice), some threads on the third or fourth pg. can still be active if the writer doesn't post for a week and then later continues. To figure out what each thread is talking about, just read it and the comments and you'll get it. Sometimes a thread will go to the back thanks to a glitch in which the first comment can send a thread back. People will post top on these threads to bring them back up. To find a lost thread, you can either search the back pgs., or use some sort of searchy thing in Google that I forgot. If you ask one of the Admins, they'll tell you. You can call me GreenMango or Mango, I don't mind. I usually call myself Mango because it is shorter. This is getting long *sighs*. Foxy, do you get Cricket? And is there a reason that your age and location box changes every once in a while? Will the changing be consistent, or are you deciding what you like best?

Welcome Foxy! Please don't feel sad! It is hard for me to talk to everyone on here. I don't get on a ton and so I either don't see threads or don't have time to look in all sections of the CB (Chatterbox)
Here are a few tips:
1. CB = Chatterbox
2. AEs = Alter Egos. They are characters that people make up and RP* with and things.
3. Threads = The thing you created. Usually they have one subject. You can make them by clicking the colorful box on your top left hand corner.
4. RPs = stories that people write together as there character. (*)
5. CAPTCHAs = The little thing at the bottom of your page that has 4 letters that you have to type in to post your comment. Some people (and me) take there CAPTCHAs and give them characters and shapes. They (the CAPTCHAs) always talk in CAPTCHA which is like this: 4444 lett erss tooo writ eee aaa worr ddd !!!! (If you can't read this it says, four letters to write a word!!!)
