Hamilton thread!

Since there are so many Hamilfans on the CB, I thought this would be fun! We can talk about Hamilton, sing songs, guess each other (Please put your name as someone from Hamilton of your actual gender), and whatever else we want.

To start off the discussion, I have a couple questions. Which part (one or two) do you like better and why? Which is your favorite song? Also, has anyone actually seen it?

Here are my answers: I like part one because everyone starts hating Alexander Hamilton in part two. My favorite song is The Schuyler Sisters. I have not seen it.

If someone comes up with a good idea, and if anyone is interested, we could do a Hamilton RP.

I like Part One because, one, the songs are better (Except It's Quiet Uptown, I LOVE that song for no apparent reason), and two, it's less dark. My favorite song...hmm...probably Non-Stop, then It's Quiet Uptown, then The Schuyler Sisters, then Helpless, then Satisfied, then...

Okay, I know that's not one favorite song. It's just that it's so hard to choose (if ya had to choose, if ya had to choose [kudos to anyone who guesses what song that's from!])

No, I have not seen Hamilton, though I may be able to in a few years. YAY!! Can you believe that my friend ACTUALLY TURNED DOWN AN OFFER TO GO TO HAMILTON IN NYC?!?! She must be crazy!

Okay, I'm going to just turn this into one huge game of finish that lyric! Let's see if we can get through the whole show! (Just use the underscore key to make blanks replacing the swears)

How does a ________, orphan, son of a ______ and a Scotsman

Dropped in the middle of a forgotten spot in the Caribbean, by providence,

Impoverished, in squalor

Grow up to be a hero and a scholar?

The ten-dollar founding father without a father got a lot farther

By working a lot harder, by being a lot smarter, by being a self-starter

By fourteen, they placed him in charge of a trading charter.

~~~
Finish this lyric!
Oh, and one more thing. Eliza, are you Owlgirl? Random Person? Ashlee?
And every day while slaves were being slaughtered and carted away,
across the waves,
he struggled and kept his guard up.
Inside, he was longing for something to be a part of
the brother was ready to beg, steal, borrow or barter.
Then a hurricane came, and devastation rained
our man saw his future drip dripping down the drain
put a pencil to his temple,
connected it to his brain
then he wrote his first refrain
a testament to his pain!
Took up a collection
Just to send him to the mainland
Get your education
Don't forget from whence you came
And the world's gonna know your name
What's you're name man?
Alexander Hamilton.
My name is Alexander Hamilton
Abd there's a million things I haven't done
But just you wait
Just you wait
I am not any of the people you guessed. Oh, and I like Satisfied too.
And every day while slaves were being slaughtered and carted,
Across the waves he struggled and kept his guard up.
Inside he was longing for something to be a part of,
The brother was willing to beg, steal, borrow, or barter.
Then a hurricane came, and devastation reigned,
Alexander Hamilton
My name is Alexander Hamilton
And there's a million things I haven't done,
but just you wait, just you wait
When he was ten his father split,
full of it, debt-ridden
two years later see Alex and his mother
bed-ridden, half dead, sittin in their own sick
the scent thick
And Alex got better but his mother went quick
~~
I like Part One better, Part Two is a lot more political and in my opinion, less interesting, my favorite songs are It's Quiet Uptown, Ten Duel Commandments, and many, many others, and I have not seen Hamilton, but I want to!!
Moved in with a cousin,
A voice sayin' "Alex, you gotta fend for yourself"
He started retreatin' and readin' every treatise on the shelf!
There woulda been nothin' left to do for someone less astute
He woulda been dead or destitute without a cent of restitution
Started workin', clerkin' for his late mother's landlord
Tradin' sugar cane and rum and all the things he can't afford!
Scammin' for every book he can get his hands on
Plannin' for the future, see him now as he stands on
The bow of a ship headed for a new land
In New York you can be a new man!
Do you mean Act One or Act Two? I can't decide! I've seen Hamilton. My favorite songs are, in order of when they happen in the musical: Washington on Your Side, It's Quiet Uptown, and Your Obedient Servant.
@Peggy: Yes, I meant Act One or Act Two instead of part one or part two.
@Angelica: Are you September?
I think the idea of doing the musical sounds cool, but I don't know how it would work.
Oh, and by the way, I have only memorized a few of the songs, so I'm not going to be a very active participant in the lyrics game.
I just realized what you meant by doing a musical! So, should we each take characters and sing the lines of our character? Or should we do a RP, like maybe telling the events from a character's point of view (and singing of course). So, if Random Person is Angelica, then the rest of us need to choose parts too. However, there aren't enough girl parts for all of the girls to play a girl, so we don't need to worry about that. I claim the king!
Before I start getting all off track, is this actually interesting to enough people for us to do it?
RP probably. It's easier to express the character's emotions.
