Chatterbox: Chirp at Cricket

So . . . today's my CBversary.

Year Count: 3.

Before I begin, I would like to acknowledge the outstanding timing of the Admins. You see, an excerpt from my second CBversary post got published in this month's magazine. Round of applause for you guys.

Now on to the real stuff.

My first year on this site was in fifth grade. Whoa, that was a while ago. I was ten, almost eleven. The first post I ever made was under my real name; otherwise, I would post it, for nostalgia's sake. It was about Harry Potter, of course. There are some things that just keep haunting you ;)

In my first year, I met a lot of amazing people and did a lot of amazing things. I believe that the first E.V.I.L. RP was created then? Now that I think about it, that might have been between my first and second CBversaries. Anyway. There were people like Alias S. and Somebody there at that time, the tail end of the era we now call Crowd Sorcery. (alas, I only made it here after the fact, or at the most, the very end of submissions.) 

My second year here was arguably my most active. My second CBversary was a pretty big deal, haha. And I was all over the place. I can't remember half of the things I did anymore, but the whole year has a sort of sheen to it, the idea of a prime, if you will. 

Then third year. Last year. I was . . . shocked to find that some thought I'd disappeared entirely. Guys, I check the CB more than daily. I am here, trust me, and I know exactly what is going on. It's just that oftentimes when I decide to post, I end up deleting it, deciding it's not good enough, or I just don't feel like typing up a whole thing unless it means a lot to me.

Third year brought something else too. Mostly, I got to know some of you a lot more closely than I could have ever imagined previously. Ashlee, Sept, Kate, Blue, and Burr - now, I can't imagine how I ever got along without you. 

And no, this isn't going to be one of those threads where I turn this into a pie war or something, so if that's what you're looking for, please scroll no further. But I would like to do something that may not be in the spirit of this context.

Meet these three.

I FEEL LIKE I'VE BEEN LOCKED IN A TRUNK FOR MONTHS AND MONTHS AND MONTHS AND MONTHS -  

Yeah, and you took up a lot of room, space hog.

Feather, Devil Owl, and Cù Chulainn. You haven't seen a lot of them recently. (sorry about the trunk, guys.) There are a couple of reasons why; most prominent is, honestly, just me being lazy! I hate typing up their character sheets again and again and again and again. Therefore, they rarely join most of the AE drama stuff. The other reason is because, to be perfectly honest, I cannot keep track of everyone's AEs anymore. It's not because of you all necessarily - though seeing that an AE I never knew is suddenly being replaced is a little off-putting - it's partially because I haven't been paying attention, and partially because my mind is stuck in the past, with Kandy King and Volcano Flame and, of course, the infamous Masked Piester. 

Who are these people?

. . . Except Cù. Cù is new.

I don't know if these three will be joining any threads, per se, but I also don't want them to be forgotten. And maybe it's my ego showing; who knows? But a world in which someone does not know the name Dev is a world I don't want to see.

Now I'm going to shut up about my AEs because this took up more space than I expected.

I don't really have an end to this, though I sort of need one. Think of it metaphorically: my third CBversary is not an end but a beginning! I am not closing a door behind my third year; I am opening one into my fourth. And I'll step through it boldly and bravely; I can't wait to see what's down the corridor.
