Name change?

Name change?

Name change?

So, for awhile now, I've been debating a name change. I know a lot of people have changed their names recently, and I'm slightly hesitant to do it, but I feel that 'Leeli' just isn't me anymore.

When I first joined, I was...what, 11? I think so. I posted in Kyngdom first as my character Moonshadow. Not long after that, I decide to try the CB. I was completely obsessed with The Wingfeather Saga. Leeli was one of my favorite characters, among others, and when I made my first post on BaB, that's what I typed into the name box without thought.

And it stuck.

For years I've kept that name, and a couple months ago is when I started really thinking about a name change. I was hesitant because Leeli had been my CB name for so long, and I really hated to give it up. But now, I feel even more disconnected from it than I did then.

These days, I'm not as huge of a Wingfeather Saga fan. I still love those books, and I always will, but I'm not necessarily freaking out about them. So I decided, what with my birthday not long ago, and my CBversary coming up, it was time.

My problem is that I don't currently have any ideas for a name. Part of me wants to do something Lord of the Rings themed, because recently, I've gotten obsessed with LotR.

Some other things about me: I love animals, the country, dance, art, writing and reading. Like I said, I'm currently into LotR.

Any name ideas would be appreciated! Thanks!

If you want to change your name, totally go for it. I think an animal or whatever name would be better than s book character. But do whatever you feel like.

Oh, I TOTALLY understand. I had that same dilemma until I finally decided to stick with Kyoto (and I hopefully will! XD). If you feel as though Leeli doesn’t suit you anymore, totally change it! It’s your name, your call. In order to fit the LoTR/reading/dance kinda theme, maybe choose a mythical name related to elves or woodland magic, because if you ever grow out of the huge LoTR phase, then at least it will be slightly different and still unique. But we love you no matter what you change your name to! Good luck! ^^

I might post suggestions if inspiration smacks me in the face. XDD

Well, I'll be sad to see "Leeli" go, but if it doesn't work anymore, it doesn't work anymore. ;D

Hmm...how about something like Evenskr? lol that's horrible. But you get the idea. xD

Annulos means rings in Latin.

Ballo, saltito, terram and scirto all mean dance, bound, leap and other such acts movement (also all in Latin).

Best of luck! :)

Yeah, I changed my name a couple times before I found the perfect one. If you feel like Leeli doesn't suit you anymore, but you're not really sure what you want your new name to be, I would advise waiting a while and looking around. There are some cool elvish words in the back of the Silmarillion that you might like. Calen means green and Aelin means pool. Also, Luthien would be a really cool name!

Ooh, yeah! I like those. I probably will wait a bit, take some time to find what I like. I did think about doing something Elvish. It would be cool, so it's definitely up there! Thanks, Aspen!

You're welcome, Leeli!! Here's some more elvish words:

Sil

Ithil

Luin (meaning "blue")

Arien

Laure (in the appendices of the Silmarillion, the e had those two dots over it to emphasize that the word is pronounced LOR-ay. The word Laure means "golden", as in light or color.)

Or what about 'the Lord of the Rings'? Actually, don't, because that is wierd LotR humor.

How about Cassiopia? Or Lolita. Or Kawaii, which means "cute" in Japanese.
