New AE, Thoughts?

Chatterbox: Chirp at Cricket

New AE, Thoughts?

New AE, Thoughts?

Now that I have been on the Chatterbox for a couple weeks I've been
trying to come up with an AE.  I was trying to think of a part of me
that would make an interesting character, as well as something I wanted
to explore.  So here we are:

Wendy...

She is constantly thinking, her mind drifting.  She is constantly
contemplating existence, life, death, morality, free will, psycology and
phislosophy.  At random points she spouts out whatever happens to be on
her mind.

Do I do that?

You do now.

Wendy speaks in italics, and her voice is slow, deep, and dreamy in a
way that sounds rather depressed, though she isn't.  She also has a bit
of a taste for the macabre.  Her outlook is completely disassociative to
the point that nothing phases her, not even death.  She doesn't really
have an opinion of me.  Wendy forgets I'm
here, I always seem to mildly surprise her whenever I say something.

Wendy holds a stuffed bear , although she has no real attachment to it
or anything else. She wears a flowy cool grey dress accented with
long-tailed pink ribbons.  Her hair is fluffy and thick, always worn
down.  Her hair, dress, and ribbons are constantly flowing and rippling like there's an ethereal breeze of some kind.

Anyway, is the name taken?  Is the personality a duplicate of someone already out there?

I'm putting a picture in the thread, I just got some new pencils and she's my debut picture.

Now I remember. Some people at Neko’s school were debating it once. I think that it is valid to sacrifice one for many, though the act may be hard. It becomes more difficult once you know personal details about the people however. As to the surgeon question, I think if someone is willing to donate then all is well. Things are always so complicated however...

One would have to not disregard the impact of on society. True utilitsrianism would only be possible through some sort of communism. I believe communist Russia had a system not entirely like the situation in the second problem. On the other hand, one could do as Plato did and fill a society with perfect people for any theoreticals.. But of course, that has no practical application.

But is practical application even the point of philosophy?  If it isn't, I would wonder if that makes philosophy self-serving. Do you think unbias is possible in any situation?  Or maybe more controversial, can one turn bias off?

Over time, I would think so. What about you?

I find that philosophy is more about exploring, trying to see what could and has happened in this world.

Turning bias off...it would be a long process but perhaps it could happen in a controlled environment.

Wendy seems amazing! I really like her, as well as her design. My specific favorite thing about her is that she forgets that you're there--I think that's a really interesting trait in an AE, since a lot of them revolve around their CBers in one way or another (which isn't bad, just common).

This is also a great reminder to me--I should be working on my own new AE... But in the meantime, meet Narrator Thirty-Three!

Hello. The being you see before you is Narrator Thirty-Three. It is interesting to make your acquaintance.

She's nice, I swear. Anyways, I love the AE!

...Thirty, do you have something cool you can end this post with?

Yes.

What?

The submit button.
