The Mystery of Top
So, I am new to chatterbox(I LITERALLY just found out about it yesterday) and i've been seeing a lot of comments with only the word "top" in it, or comments by a user named Top, with no words in it.
I origianlly though it was a mystery that no one knew about(I was going to make a post about it, thenk god I didn't), but now I think its' some kind of inside joke.
can someone explain top? Is it a joke about being at the top of the comments? WHAT IS IT?!

Hi Ella, and welcome to the Chatterbox! I’m Jwyn, lover of books and all kinds of creative arts.
When I first joined the CB, I had absolutely no idea what a Top was and I was just as confused as you are. The Ultimate Guide, as the Admins just linked, is a great place for answers about the mysteries of the Chatterbox, so if you have any other questions, I’d highly recommend it.
As for your question, when posts aren’t commented on for a while they sink down into lower pages and newer ones with more comment activity stay up on the first page. When someone wants a post that had fallen to a lower page to come back up, they post comments saying Top! (or song lyrics or filler text, as those top faster) to add recent comments bringing the thread to the first page.

So, I saw someone had asked a question on here, and remebered that I have a question of my own. What are CB Balls, and those other things that go on, like... action role play thingies and stuff like that? I'm sort of hopelessly confused with all that and completely don't get it.

Are you confused about all roleplays, or just the ones with CBers instead of characters?
If you're only wondering about the CB ones, they're just like RPs, but with CBers posting as themselves. Instead of a regular story, people post what they would be doing at a ball. If you read through a little of it, you'll see.
If you're wondering about all of them, RPs are story games? where people post character sheets about what character they want to write as and then right parts of the story from the point of view of their character.
