I know there's

I know there's a LOT of quizzes, but I heard my brain saying "Hey Maggie, make a quiz!" or maybe it was a shoulder angel, I'm not too sure. Anyways, here's a quiz. But it's not all like everybuggy elses. It tells something!

ARE YOU SMART? QUIZ

by Maggie

1. A school test is coming, what do you do?

a. Study all night long!

b. Study for a few hours, or until I feel ready.

c. Eh, who cares? Studying doesn't help.

2. You receive your test back, and you got a C-. What do you do?

a. Start to cry and promise yourself that next time you'll study longer and harder.

b. Sigh and try to study harder a bit better next time.

c. Jump up and down happily, it's the best grade you've ever received on a quiz!

3. You get home from school, what do you do?

a. I start my homework right away and check it over a million times.

b. I wait until after my snack to start homework.

c. I go home, watch t.v., eat dinner, and go to bed. I wake up the next morning and realize I forgot to do my homework...

4. Your teacher asked you a question that you don't know. What do you do?

a. HA! That would never happen, I'm smart!

b. Try my best.

c. Shrug my shoulders.

OK! Now it's time to see if you're smart.

Mostly As; YOU'RE SMART!

Mostly Bs; YOU'RE NORMAL!

Mostly Cs; YOU'RE NOT SMART! But you could be if you did your homework and studied more!

MAggie, I am a strong believer in that your grades do not define smartness and your studying does not define your grade. School does not measure smartness. I know a kid who is mostly c's but is a genius. They just don't like school. When I used to go to school I never studied but got straight A's anyway. I did not mean that to sound like bragging. Oh yes, I hate the word normal. Sorry for sort of being mean to your test. Sorry. Sorry sorry.

No, it's not bragging, and it's not being mean. I agree with you, Adina. I almost never study, but I still always get As. And no matter what I am, it's not normal.

Really, having to study more can sometimes mean that you know less.

I was just going to reply to this and then the thread disappeared!!! I'll write my answers later.

1: B – well, usually I don't have to study, but...

2: A, definitey! A C– *shivers*

3: B

4: Um... I would say, "I hesitate to articulate for fear that I may deviate from the true course of rectitude." Hm...

It says mostly Bs, but I'm not normal.

1. A school test is coming, what do you do?

c. Eh, who cares? Studying doesn't help. (because if I haven't gotten it already from paying attention (in my way) in class, then reading a textbook certainly isn't going to help... it'll put me to sleep)

2. You receive your test back, and you got a C-. What do you do?

b. Sigh and try to study harder a bit better next time. (Or at least not to fall asleep in class again... Also, I don't get C's, I get B's and A's... And one D last year when I bombed a Geometry test by falling asleep three questions into it...)

3. You get home from school, what do you do?

c. I go home, get on the computer, eat dinner, get back on the computer, and go to bed. I wake up the next morning and realize I forgot to do my homework... (Slightly edited, and as a note: I usually do my homework in class when it's assigned/in class fifteen minutes before I hand it in...)

4. Your teacher asked you a question that you don't know. What do you do?

Depends.

b. Try my best. (If it's a class I like, for instance English, or Humanities, or Biology)

c. Shrug my shoulders. (If it's a class or teacher I dislike, such as Driver's Ed or Mr. Peterson)

I suppose, by your reckoning, this would put me at Normal with a tendency towards Not Smart.

My ego rejects this conclusion and substitutes its own (three of them, in fact): School Is Boring and As Long as I Get A's, Why Should I Care? and Pass/Fail Colleges Are The Only Way To Go.

Bleh, multiple choice... I never know how to do these correctly.

1. A school test is coming, what do you do?

Well, it depends on the subject. For, say, English, c, because I never study for English etc. because it's so easy... If it was science or social studies, b. It very rarely sinks in, because I'm better with answering questions than absorbing textbooks, but worth a try. Math, probably also c. Because if either the teacher didn't explain well enough or I simply didn't get it, then staring at the measly instructions in the Harper-whatever textbooks is not going to help.

2. You receive your test back, and you got a C-. What do you do?

Good Lord, I dunno. I've never gotten a C-... I guess b?

3. You get home from school, what do you do?

None of the above. Eat snack, get changed, possibly go on the computer/read, then do my homework. If there's much left, we have a long bus ride and I do most of it there. I really don't devote that much time to homework, actually...

4. Your teacher asked you a question that you don't know. What do you do?

Uh... somewhere between a and b. Usually I know the answers (not to brag), and if I don't I can usually think up something and use a lot of words to say it... the teachers like that for some reason. Unless it's math, I just shrug and say, "To be quite honest, I really have no clue."

That would be... b leaning towards c. Ha. I wouldn't call myself normal at all... just extremely laid-back towards things like this, because I've always gotten straight As... most of my classmates don't. But I'd agree with Adina that grades are a bad judge of intellect. Additionally:

"Mostly Cs; YOU'RE NOT SMART! But you could be if you did your homework and studied more!"

Untrue. Doing homework and studying cannot affect a person's IQ. Just like not doing homework and studying doesn't automatically make you dumb.

Yes, but I tend to sound a bit awkward when talking about these things... I don't know why... :/

You guys...this quiz isn't really supossed to tell how smart you are...it's just a fun random quiz you can take. No quiz can tell you how smart you are. :) This is just a fun quiz!

b.5

a - crying

b

b

And by the way, I think that most of your A's show not-smartness. Staying up all night before a test - sure way to a bad grade cause you won't be able to concentrate. Crying isn't a good idea either. Checking your homework a million times shows a small mind unable to grasp the futility of its occupation. And don't be a know-it-all in number four. Sorry if that was harsh. Not intended that way.

Yeah... Obviously no one would pick A in number 4! You'd have to be really rude to just go around saying things like that! No offense to anyone who does *coughCorwyncough*.
