It all started with one friend's birthday party... I knew her from school, you know her from... Um... Something else? And that fateful day, our paths crossed...
ok, I'm going to stop doing the dramatic story thing now, but that is so weird! I figured it out Today when I had a conversation with my friend over text like this:
Her: are you on chatterbox
me: yeah how did ye know
her: [doodlegirl's real name] said there was a Mary from Raleigh on there
me: is she on chatterbox?
her: yea
me: what is her name?
her: DoodleGirl
And then I proceeded to freak out. This is so weird oh my gosh!

I am not relevant to this story in anyway but I AM SO EXCITED FOR YOU GUYS!! That's such a weird coincidence that you've met each other. There's less than a hundred CBers and so many kids in the world. That's insane.

That's really cool, you guys! I've always wanted to meet someone from the CB irl. I mean, I know CL and Poetic Panda (because they're my sister and my sister's childhood friend, respectively) but I don't think I actually know anyone else. Theoretically I could have met Win at some point, since she also lives in Kansas, but the odds of us living in the same area are slim at best. Oh well. That actually reminds me, about 2 years ago for the CB's 10 year anniversary (was it 2 years ago? I forget) there was a thread discussing how we could recognize each other if we ever ran into each other. I think the consensus was that we would all make friendship bracelets in specific colors (red and yellow, among others) and then if we ever went on vacation or travelled and saw someone wearing one of the bracelets, we'd know they were a CBer. Man, I haven't thought about that in forever...
(And I'd also just like to put a quick disclaimer that however cool it is to meet someone on the CB, you should never ever ever give your information such as your address to someone that you don't know on the internet. You never know who you're really talking to, and I want y'all to stay safe!)

I loved those kind of threads! I remember someone started making a map of CBers, which was cool.
I think someone said also you're supposed to say "chirp, chirp, Cricket" as a code word or something? I can't remember what that was about...?

AAA you guys, that's so cool! Also I remember the bracelets! I think it ended up being blue, purple, brown, yellow, green, and burgundy, to represent the different parts of the CB (CaC, DtE, Inkwell, etc.). I'm not sure how many people made them, but I still have mine!
