I have a proposition to make. That is to say, I have set a goal for myself and would love some company in its pursuit. I spend way to much time in fantasy worlds - by book, by imagination (I can spend hours doing nothing but living in my imaginary worlds if you'll let me) and online in MMORPG (massive multiplayer online roleplaying games, I think), and it's starting to interfere with academics and my relationships with other people. So here's the deal - besides writing, I am going to endeavour for the next month - until November nineteenth, which happens to be my mom's birthday - not to enter any fantasy world by book or by mind or by technology. I'm not talking about fiction that's not fantasy or about the Chatterbox or things like that, but I'm strictly avoiding fantasy to help straighten out my priorities in life. Any takers? I've started already and will do my best to hold out for a full month, and as you probably know, in a big goal you're much more likely to do well if you know there are other people working for the same thing. Competition and all. Hence my making this thread. And now I'm digressing. So I'll stop. Yeah. Stopping.... :P

Good idea :)  MY family often finds me just sitting somewhere, anywhere.  I have sat on the stairs and entered 'my world' and normally my bed, my floor in my room, or the low window ledge where I can see our pond in the front yard.  Those are my normal places to sit and think.  My family just doesn't get it....

But I am not a big fantasy reader.  I normally read historical fiction.  Right now I am reading the Illiad by Homer.  UGH. Difficult, and I even got the dumbed-down version :).  So, I don't think I can follow you on that.  I am not ALWAYS in fantasy worlds, and when I am, it doesn't harm/hurt/bother anyone else.  But, it's a great idea for those with that problem.
