Chatterbox: Chirp at Cricket

ATTENTION ALL CHATTERBOXERS!!!

ATTENTION ALL CHATTERBOXERS!!!!! I was just thinking what if one of us went on vacation to say around Boston where I live. Then we see each other but we don't know it. I really want to see a Chatterboxer so I don't want to miss a chance. I know that it's very unlikley but still.

Say to everyone that you meet, 'Hey, have you ever heard of the Chatterbox? It's sooooo cool!' or something like that.

The closest I've ever come to really technically meeting a CBer outside the CB is a) Reuben and I took the same JH test and b) Adina and I email back and forth. Incidentally, both NJers. :)

I've thought about that too. Except in my vision I am at a grocery store and see a someone reading a Cricket magazine on a bench and I ask them "Do you happen to be _____?"

*sob* Why didn't you post this sooner? I was just in Boston this summer, and all around MA :( I'm so sad now! What if I saw you and didn't even realize it?!?!?! Oh no!! Maybe you saw me, though. In Harvard Square did you by any chance see a strange-looking person that was wearing a peace shirt and sleeping on a bench? Cuz that was me, lol :D Do you go and watch those YAK dancers? They were so cool, I watched them almost every day when I was in Boston. And my dad went into Fenway Park, but I couldn't go with him, because we couldn't afford any more tickets :'( But maybe you did see me! That would be so cool!

If you ask what is your favorite magazine, and they say Cricket.you can ask them about Chatterbox. That way if it is not a Chatterboxer it won't seem 'odd.' I think we had this discussion before, and this was the end suggestion...

I posted a thread like this some time ago because I agree. I think it's best to make a habit of bringing up Cricket regularly in conversations with people you meet. It makes you look like not too much of a weirdo (if you're concerned about that :D) and is an easy thing to slip out of - "Oh, nothing - you just remind me of someone I know online." I would love to meet you guys. TNO is most likely, seeing as how she lives only one state away. And she's a touch too wacky to miss. (No offense - so am I. :D) That is, I hope she is in real life, too.

But what if it's just someone we see passing by? I don't talk to strangers without good reason.

Therefore, whenever I see someone who looks approximately 8-17 years old that I don't know, I'll tug my  ear. If you see someone doing this, especially in Texas, ask if my name is Katie. If the person says, "Gese—How did you know? Do you get Cricket magazine?" say, "Yes," or, "Gese," or nod or something, and say your name and screenname (if you have one).

Cool... where in Texas? I'm in San Antonio, but I go to Austin and Seguin pretty frequently.

I know. It would be really cool to meet one of you

guys! :D If you ever do come across someone who

sounds like us (because most of us have given lots

of hints about ourselves) you could always ask if they've

ever read Cricket magazine. It's simple and it wouldn't

make you sound "weird" even if the person wasn't a

Chatterboxer. :)

I know, me too!!!  I still say that Cricket needs to have a convention of sorts.  :)

Admin, just out of curiosity, what's the reasoning for now having to do the anti spam stuff all the time?  It use to be only when you hadn't been on in a while.  I mean, it's better, cause it's safer, or whatever, but I was just curious.  :)

About two weeks ago we started getting a number of odd, spammy posts. We deleted them, but thought it was a good idea to up the protection for a while.

So, what happens if you don't type the anti spam thing?  I'm afraid to try it!  :)

I'm going to be in Sun River Oregon some time in the near future.  :)  Any of the Oregonians around there?

Well, I live in Albany, so that's, like, 3 or 4 hours away, I think. (Albany about 15 minutes away from Corvallis) I know that Koffee and I live really close to each other, but we've never met before.
